Default Another reason why I don't do spray...

A guy on the coloradostangs forums posted this...

Granted it was a 175 shot, so that could've done it. I guess it blew up the same day it was installed.

I know plenty of people with it too, looks like fun, but I'm a supercharger kinda guy. Plus, I think the Fast and Furious movies ruined it for me.

Sure it's better cost wise, at first. But if you're always on the bottle then maybe not. You don't have to refill a s/c

and the best part, is a 302 engine can be picked up for about a dollar per cube. lol... so you can basically blow engines all day long and just swap em out with a new one.

And that's why you don't go over a 150hit with a wet shot on a fogger nozzle. People don't want to believe others when the say 150hit max with a fogger nozzle. Wonder what his setup was and when he sprayed it.

The whole nitrous vs. FI has been beaten to death. Nitrous is cheap and does the job when you need it. When you don't need it you don't use it. A bottle will usually last a long time once your used to the power like me. I have not filled mine since the last central Florida meet a few weeks ago or so.

As for the F&F ruining nitrous for you, dude come on.

oh and this thread has been derailed lol.

He didn't do it right. Plain and simple.

And the damage isn't too bad from what we can see. It could of been worse.

lol YUM. Bet that scared the **** outta him.

F'real though.. 175 on a fogger nozzle - bad idea. lol.

I THINK the way to go with that would be a direct port.. not 100% sure.. but..seems like most guys that go with big shots either run a plate or a direct port..

Most likely its a 20shot and not 200. I don't see that motor being able to even ingest that much nitrous.

For over 150 shots on mod motors you need to either go with the NX plate or do direct port. Everyone I know who has tried 175 through a fogger nozzle has backfired hard.

not to mention it looks like he ran the shot from in front of the MAF which left a 3ft long trail of vaporized and liquid fuel, air and nitrous waiting for a match. The dude could have just sold that fogger and got a NOSzle kit or any direct port kit and been fine but instead he's out like 3 grand in busted *** parts. What a douche.

woot to that. He could have fragged the whole motor instead of just the intake and hood. I just got a wet kit for the beast. That one will feed probably into the upper plenum or 6" before the TB. I've got another kit in the works to feed from the bottom of the intake directly into the runners but that's going to end up a dry kit and a fairly small shot at that. The wet kit is set at 100hp right now but I may bump that to 125 before I slap it back on the dyno. The dry kit will be either 35 or 50hp just for passing and tormenting.

Don't fear the gas but don't be a dumbass about using it either.

you can run a plate kit on a 2v with that big a shot but you should be careful about using that much in a small inch v8 anyway. You really need to consider big shots on tiny engines. His 4v lacks a plate kit option.

The there up there isn't for their it's for there which is also different than they're but that's another discussion. Sorry... had to.

NOS is a brand. Nawss is something you hear spoken by asstards in movies ("they just ordered 2 t66 turbos with NAWSS" ... OMFG what dumbass wrote that). Nitrous or any colloquialism for it other than "nawss" is great and not the least bit dangerous to use properly.

I know exactly what happens to a motor on a 200 dry shot. KA-******'-BOOM.

There's just too much fuel in a 175+ shot to keep in the tiny *** confines of modular intakes. If you go direct port or use a single plane intake and a plate kit (or combos of the 3) then you're not forcing the fuel to stay atomized through a long *** tunnel full of turns and sharp edges, you're just shooting it at the intake valve through a much shorter path. Less chance of something being able to chain react and get fugly on your hood.

Still... dayum. I just bought a damn kit again. Don't need to be seeing people blowing up their ****.
