Default I love cawledge

I'm in a graphics class as a requirement for advertising. Right now we're learning photoshop, only 4 days in..she just showed us the menus, how to resize pics, drop backgrounds, clone..etc, simple ****. Our first HW assignment was to make a 10 picture collage describing you/your interests with 2 pictures that have no background. I may have gone a little overkill

Anyway, everyone in the class is like 20 or older, I'm 18 and have been teaching myself PS for 4 years

If I remember correctly you don't have to pay taxes if you're in school, unless that's just Oregon law. I'm 20 years old and still have money left to spend. I guess I just know how to handle my money and I don't have very many bills.

UWF. I'm a sophomore there.

Cobra, I have Florida Prepaid/100% Bright Futures scholarship so I get about $1,200 back every semester, I also detail cars which gets me about $25-50/hr when I have customers. I'm actively searching for a real job so I have a fixed income to rely on, but haven't had any luck. That and I'm a dependent living at home so I don't have to pay for food/housing (campus is only 10 minute drive away so why waste money to stay in the dorm). I also sell a lot of stuff. But yeah I have it pretty easy I'd say, it did take me 2 years to save up for my wheels and tires, though.

and thanks guys, it's a fun class. I'm glad that I actually enjoy school for once.

Here's what I did in class today..for now she's just making us get some pictures off the internet and make collages, drop backgrounds, play with text..really dumbed down crap and she said next week we'll actually have assignments. So I got some pics of the ZR1 and made a poster/advertisement kinda thing..I thought it was pretty cool..but she doesn't let us save any of our work =\.

The Mac computers in the lab suck too, only 1GB of ram so the program bogs down the damn computer. The sizes we work with are 8.5x11 so the image is about 2000x3000 pixels.

Yeah, but I started college with 30 credit hours because of the IB program I was in during HS, I'm at 45 right now.

UWF is alright, it's real open and relaxed, but I want to transfer to UF eventually.

My wife is taking a digital photography class on weekends. They're teaching the basic stuff you could probably learn from the book the camera came with, but it's easier when someone shows you how. Her first homework was, take a picture of the wind. LOL. Anyway it's just a learner course and she's 45 this year so, cudo's to my lovely wife.. She's gonna teach me what she learns, and I'm gonna buy her a D-90 for her B-day in March..

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm 20 years old, almost 21 years old and I've been supporting and taking care of my self since I was like 13 or around then. I mean I did have help, don't get me wrong, but I was still on my own pretty much. That sucks, I hope my ball joint isn't going out, that will **** me off. I know what it's like to be impatient, if I can't get what I want I get grumpy for awhile until it gose away. LoL or I'll just go spend money I don't have and some how earn it back. LoL

Damn Cola...I'm impressed. 45 credits and you're 18? I'll be just getting around to finishing my associates this summer and I'll be 21 in April.

I actually am an advertising major, haha. I really want to get involved with advertising for the USMC, Army or Ford after I get a degree.

And hokie, yeah, it's kind of weird though since all of my friends here are still freshmen, taking their general studies courses. I have a bunch of friends from high school at UF/FSU in the same boat as me. What surprises me the most is that I'm in this situation but was .3 from a failing GPA in high school. The program suggested I drop out at the start of my second semester in Junior Year because my GPA was below the required 2.7 to stay in the program. But they let me stay and I ended up passing enough of my IB exams to get the diploma and a bunch of college credit. My high school transcript was by no means impressive, that's why I'm at University of West Florida rather than UF.
