40th Anniversary GT Vert
Although I loved the look of this car, without a rear spoiler it was missing that GT look. To keep it clean and yet provide a nice aggressive look, I installed a Cobra spoiler… once painted it gives the car a well balanced look. The stock rims were also too dark so I dropped the FR500’s on it… I’d like to keep the car as sleeper as possible so I haven’t changed any other external appearance items.
Mod list:
Steeda GT Sport Springs
Steeda Tie Rod Ends
Steeda X2 Ball Joints
UPR “Shark” Caster/Camber Plates (these suck and will be replaced next week)
Steeda Cold Air Intake
Accufab 75mm Throttle body & Plenum
March Underdrive Pulleys
Steeda GT Cat Back Exhaust
Tokico Shocks and Struts
FRPP 3.73 Gears
FRPP FR500 18x9
Steeda Tri Axe Short Throw Shifter
Diablo Predator Inside
2003 Cobra Spoiler w/light
Simco Gauges
Alpine CDA-9833 (MACH1000 fully tied in – will upgrade 10” woofers to Alpine)
Alpine KCA-420I (iPod Interface)
I plan to roll back some mods to drop in a supercharger – but that wont happen till next spring. The only body mods I plan yet are to change out the fog lights to clear lenses and install the MACH 1 chin spoiler.

Parts, paint and labor at a local Ford dealership ran me around $1000.... but the look was worth it to me. These are the FR500 (Silver w/Machined Lip) rims... I changed out the centercaps back to pony's...

You have to remember that I paid full OE price from the dealership, the spoiler was $500, the light was $150 and the rest was install and paint... I would agree that $1000 is high, and I didn't expect it... but had to have it. So I sucked it up and had it installed... If I had to do it again, I'd go to ebay or a junk yard first, but I chose the dealer since they estimated it at $650. Later I found out they picked the wrong spoiler. When the correct parts were located and delivered, I just couldn't say no.

There are two Cobra spoilers, the kits are different! They have a standard kit that does not require the light assembly and also comes with a template for install (much cheaper aftermarket version). The OE Cobra spoiler with light assembly (like the one I have) does not come with a template so unless you have the dealer install it, I'd recommend checking and triple checking before you drill those holes. My spoiler was dealer installed... cuz I'm a chicken
Best of luck to you...

SpringsStang I would agree with the rear inserts, I do plan on either removing them all together or going parchment/gold... but the silver rims look sweet and tie in the silver 40th Anniversary button on the sides of the car. I could de-chrome some by doing a grill delete... and that may be an option in the future too.

Congrats on being the 1st member to put on the Cobra rear wing. I think its the nicest factory wing that ford has done and one of the nicest aftermarket ones as well. It was expensive but well worth it,going fast is awesome but looking good while going fast is where its at.

Ok, thanks Shaker. I had mine ordered straight from the Ford dealer. So its the OEM spoiler. I have heard that you just gotta be really careful to make the holes. Do you know how many screws they used? (if you look at yours under the trunk)?
Thanks,
Brandon

I think there are four, two on the top and two on the back on either side of the light assembly. I figured with some large construction paper you could make your own template... Was my thought before I tossed in the towel.
