no, you can move it back a few inches and the front of the spoiler still covers the old holes. you should plug them up though.

there is a writeup for this somewhere...

The stock spoiler sits over the existing holes. There is no need to plug, bondo, fill, all of that stuff. It's as easy as taking some measurements/alignment, drilling, and thats it.

Definitely looks awesome. Here's my buddy's car with the spoiler moved back...
