Default stages of life for my car. 56k... don't bother.

It started life as an 03gt premium. Got lowered, then got IRS, then got lowered, then got MM coil-overs all around, then had the full MM IRS treatment, then MM a-arms, then 98 cobra axle, then MM PHB, then MM Torque arm. Each part was added one at a time basically so I could learn the behavior of the car with each setup and see exactly what one part does to affect the others. Some interesting lessons were learned.. the most important was to spend the money big to start with or you'll end up doing it twice.

Enjoy.. pics will be added for a while.. I have a few.

I'm working on getting all my pics pushed over to photobucket.

The scoops and wing I just pulled off, scuffed and painted flat black. Kinda did that on a whim but I think it looks really good with all the black out parts. Even the little pony on the grill is blacked out.

Damn, that things like a race car! It must handle like a dream! I would love to see some more pictures of the engine. So how much does your car weigh? Oh and how did that bullitt/mach shift **** feel on your hand when it was 114 degrees.....ha ha ha....I was hating mine

I see you took most of those pictures at the fairgrounds in the Ace Train parking lot.....I'm over there quite a bit since we have an office on the fairgrounds...(The Heritage House is our office)

Very sweet. How much were the brakes if you dont mind me asking? And what shifter do you use?

It's as much of a race car as I can tolerate on the street. The engine is almost totally stock.. there's a oil-air separator of my original design, steeda CAI and a steeda STB but it's otherwise mostly stock under there. You can barely make out the accufab TB in most of my pics and the ported plenum (my own porting) looks stock for the most part.

It's a whole new car again with the TA where it belongs instead of on my garage floor. I need to get the MM sway bar on it now but that's more welding and I just don't have the time right now. I may flip my LCA's back around and just use a fox body bar for the time being. It's got a little push again but that'll tune right out with the MM sway bar. Other than that turning right all of a sudden like from 40-60mph is no big deal... doesn't even chirp the tires. The down side is with the TA on I can barely get em to light up anymore. I just slapped a set of 275/40/17's on the back this past weekend and they're really sticky.

Yeah I kick it over there during lunch sometimes.. chill in the lot listening to the Bone and reading mustang rags. The **** wasn't as bad as it could have been but shifting was necessarily done very fast... heheh. I work just on the other side of the fairgrounds over at koll center by the documentum buildings.

matt.. the brakes cost me 350 but that was a sweetheart deal. Normally a baer kit like that is 6-800. Strange part is, it's basically identical to the cobra kit on any cobra. I use a tri-ax shifter with a custom pro5.0 handle that's been shortened and bent so it fits me better. I hated the tri-ax handle and the stocker was just too damn tall. This handle is about 4" from top to bottom which gives me about a 2.5" effective handle with the **** on. It's a little more effort to get into any gear but under pressure there's less room to screw up and blow the shift.

Oh yeah... estimated weight is 3100-3300 but I doubt it's even that high. I've gone to great lengths to remove weight, from the 19lb seats, removed back seat, coil-over kit and control arms, trim removal, etc... The seats alone were -100lbs and I came up about -25lbs on the front suspension and -20lbs from the rear axle, dead even on the rear suspension and I lost about 30-40 with the exhaust. cutting out a cat and any thing resembling tail pipes made a pretty big chunk of weight vanish. I'll probably take it to the scales after the 5.4L goes in and then I'll corner weight it and be finally done.

thanks. I figured I'd been giving pointers long enough, I might as well show what my own pointers have gotten me.

What tires are you running now? That sounds like an awesome suspention setup. Have you found the limit of your tires in turning yet, because I know your suspention isnt the weak link of the chain.

the tires on front are nitto 555's in 245/45/17 the rears (on a budget this round) are Riken Raptors in 275/40. The Riken's were 100 bucks at a Goodyear store and are one of the stickier tires I've ever had. I don't know how they'll do on mileage but we'll see. The suspension allows me to get more out of my tires than I'm comfortable doing most times. The fronts will push hard if I over drive the car, if I just let it happen, there's not a limit that I've found which I can even come close to in town. I'm going to see about starting some autocross action but I'm sure I'll be in a higher end class than I would like thanks to the MM stuff.

Yes it's dirty in that shot. I have usually 10-15 water bottles on the floor which shows how much water I drink. The hardees bag is jack in the box and it was my lunch that day. MMMMMMM greasy.

I thank everyone for their kind words.

That's how my Aurora's are, amazing how the "cheaper" tires have that much grip in them!

any future power adder plans?

I've had great luck with bargain tires except for Kumho 712's. The kumhos were pretty good but as you approach the limit they give out real sudden like and the small tread blocks made them kinda squirmy.

After the 5.4 comes in I'll be slapping a 75shot of nitrous through a wet kit. If that's too much for me to handle safely in one blast (that should bring me up to almost 500lbs of tq) I'll split it up into a 25 and a 50 in a 2 stage. The motor is supposed to end up with 10.75:1 compression which makes blowers a little less than pump gas friendly but I can still put as much as 5-6lbs of boost in it before pump gas isn't an option at all.

You ought to pop by my place this weekend. I'm going to flip my LCA's around and slap a fox body sway bar on it... see if I can't dial out some of the push. It's always fun wrenching on cars, particularly mine.

here's something that just arrived yesterday:

I had to blank out some parts as they're still top secret. This is for testing purposes, I haven't actually purchased all that... I'm way to broke for that with the 5.4 build up going on.

I'll send you a PM maybe friday....my fiancee and I are trying to buy a brand new town house in mountain house (not excited about living that far out, but it's a start) and so we are going to be doing a lot of running around this weekend so I'll have to see what's going on.

With buying a town home my modding days are going to be over for a while....I did order an intake spacer a while back and just got it today so that will be my last one for a long time!.....hopefully I won't have to give up the mach because of the commute....
