Default MCM Motorsports Camera Mount

Well, in planning for next weeks trip to The Rock, I borrowed a video camera from a friend and have started making a new camera mount. Square Aluminum is perfect and the mount is secure, I just have some finishing touches to do since the camera still wobbles a bit. I am thinking a ratcheting strap should do the trick.

Nice work, looks GREAT! Just one question, doesn't it point right at the rear view mirror?

Nice idea. Two questions.. #1. Will SCCA allow that "rig" behind you like that? I'm sure they would tell me "No F'ing way". I once had to remove a chain ( thin rope one my daughter made me in school)around my rear mirror to race. #2 If it's ok, do you have any rubber bushings under the camera? For vibration and all.

Actually, it is the NASA and I have emailed these pics to the Regional Director for approval. Besides, this is not a COMPETITION event. In a race environment, I will have a much better mount on the roll cage. Last years CMC Champion told me that as long as it is secure, they will allow it. We will see what happens. I still have some finishing touches to make to it and will be even more secure before it hits the track.
