Default E-Brake Cable

I've came to notice when I bought my Mustang the E-Brake didn't work that entire well. I tried to have my mechanic fix it, he said he did his best and if it didn't work that the Cable was stretched. I'm not looking to buy anything expensive or aftermarket.

well there are 3 cables that could be at fault, 1 to each rear wheel and the an intermediate one the joins the 2 rears to the e-brake control asbly, any idea which one(s) you may need???

You should get it fixed, it may be stretched or might just be fixable by tighting it. I had my mechanic take a look at mine and now I need to find out what one it is.
Why is yours out? Mine is out becaues that's how I got the car.

2005 up is a slightly different set-up than previous models, as the intermediate cable is part of the whole p-brake ratchet asbly and there is an updated ratchet/control asbly aval from Ford to correct this....

My mechanic said that it's the main E-Brake Cable from the lever, not the ones to the rear brakes he said those 2 are good. I wonder how the main one got stretched. My mother had a 1990 Geo Metro and when she died I got it. I messed with that car so bad, just pulling on that E-Brake so bad and it still stuck strong and never messed up.
