you got that same problem???
That might be what is happening, but i hardly ever use my trunk at all. Its not really scratched, its just really really faded. Its almost white on the top. I just went and looked at it and it does have some of those finger marks but its mostly just faded.

Default Clouded/scratched looking 3rd brake light.

I have noticed that my third brake light has seriously deteriorated on top, so much so that it detracts from the appearance of the car. Since then I have made a point of looking at other's of that model, and it seems that it must be uv damage from the sun. In almost every case, if there is a spoiler, the light lens is fine, but every one I've come across so far without the spoiler has some degree of cracking, whitening of the plastic on the top surface. What I would like to know is whether Ford is standing behind this issue (ie replacing damaged lenses)? My car is under three years old, and to have this kind of damage occur, clearly indicates to me that it is a defective materials issue. I wonder, is there any kind of silent recall or replacement plan in effect that the dealers are aware of, but do not volunteer this information? I would like to hear from others with this third brake light issue. Also, the whole assembly looks like it is bowed out of shape, effectively lifting the outer corners above the trunk line.
