MU vs. KU!!!!!!!!!!
who's gonna win? discuss, legit arguments, smack talk, pick your winner and what you think the score will be.
I pick KU. we've beaten MU 3 out of the last 4 years, we've got the #2 scoring offense in the nation, we're putting up 2nd most points in the nation, we have an awesome defense to match the offense, and our special teams is just bad ***. Our weakness is this will be one of our first legitimate tests against a top 20 team (we beat KState earlier in the season but they were only ranked #24 at the time).
MU is strong on O' but not as strong on defense. This weakness will allow KU to win the game.
KU 41
MU 38 in regulation
also MU fans...please remove those gay *** tiger tails that you all hang from the back of your SUV's and your trunks...that is the dumbest thing I ever saw, and besides you just copied that from the Auburn Tigers.
ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK
war kicking Missouri's *** back to that oversized litterbox of a campus at Columbia.

Hell with KU's schedule Nebraska might be undeafeated too
Missouri has played a tougher schedule and should be able to score at will at Arrowhead Stadium. If it was at KU I'd give them the edge but it's not

Kansas has looked good beating up on weak teams, but I still don't know how I feel. It's not like Missouri has done anything different though. I have a feeling this is going to be a non defensive shootout. I'll take Mizzou w/ Chase Daniel's leadership to win a close one. I'll hardly be surprised if Kansas wins though.
#4
I think KU will have the difference as far as the crowd, because there's so many KU fans in that area, especially right there along the border w/ Johnson and Wyandotte Counties, and especially all the KU college students that more than likely maxed out their credit cards to get tickets...lol.
Chase Daniel is no doubt dangerous at QB, but so is Todd Reesing. This game will be decided by whoever plays better defense, and performs better on the special teams side. The offensive fireworks of this game, will resemble something like a 3 hour version of The Shootout at the OK Corral.
KU is a 2 point favorite right now.

man that was a darn good game. MU's defense played with a tenacity, I haven't seen all year long.
but KU hung in there, and they were resilient, and weren't going to go quietly.
unfortunately our O-Line took a beating all game long, and we couldn't stop the pass rush. Reesing looked pretty scared and confused. Our defense for some reason suddenly couldn't tackle.
I'm very disappointed in KU's play calling. throwing underneath when they needed big yardage, and running draw plays on 3rd down...
i still don't understand why Herford didn't let that final punt bounce into the end zone, so Reesing could have had at least 20 yards to work with, but being backed up he just ran backwards and took a safety...
11-1 is nothing to be ashamed of...we lost to a good football team, but we proved we could hang in there with the best of them. KU had every reason to give up and just lay down, but they didn't. We were battered, we were beaten, we were outplayed, but still there we were.
I'm proud to be a Jayhawk, we should get a nice BCS Bowl Game.
MU you have one more game, and all that celebration crap had better stop after tonight, cause OU is a beast of a different nature. They had a pick me up game against OK State, and they obliterated them...they've just painted a big bullseye on you. Good Luck, you'll need it!!!!!

Holy hell, KU was never in that game from the kick-off. I know the score was only one touchdown, but take it from an outsider who could care less who one or lost, MU dominated every part of that game. The Jay-Hawks were lucky to even have a chance.
I have a prediction, though, MU will loose next week. Why? Because they will still be celebrating from today AND, this is just how the season has gone all year long. Wait and see, I bet OSU will end up taking the trophy....because that would be a fitting end for a cray season.

...but i disgree with your first statement, KU was in that game, it took us a while to get going and we rallied in the 4th quarter, but it was just too little too late. we hung tough, but MU's D was dominant, and our D couldn't tackle.
but the thing about KU that sticks out to me is they only gave up 14 pts in the 1st half...that's impressive against a team like MU. If they would have had the killer instinct, that game would have been 28-0 at halftime, and we never would have rallied like we did. we bent and we bent and we bent, but we didn't break until late in the 4th when they got that last touchdown to all but ice the win.
also it'll be WV vs. OSU and WV will kill OSU.
WV will win the NC Title.

WV and OSU will be a good game. Too hard to predict the outcome except that anything is possible.
I appreciate your optimism about the game today and you are obviously a fan of KU, but that game was over in the 2nd qtr. MU was just toying with them. Even the announcers were not giving the Jay Hawks a chance.
KU did not give up that is for sure, but you have to play in all 4 quarters generally, and not just the last. KU's otherwise devasting offense just did not have it today.
MU had the ball for 15 more minutes then did KU and they completed 40 of 49 passes with no interceptions. MU's offense was on fire. just just did not know how to close the deal when they should have.

I was surprised to see the score at the end, because I switched to bama/auburn when mizzou went up by 21. Kansas was more of a team than I gave them credit for, but I still don't know they'll do in a BCS bowl against a non Big 12 team. I had to laugh when I saw this sign.
"Kansas. A tradition in football since September." haha.

MU's lack of killer instinct is what will cost them against OU next week.
the funny thing, I'm not all that mad, cause we ended our season with an 11-1 record, and we're going to a BCS Bowl game. If (more like when) MU loses to OU, they don't get to go to a BCS Bowl game, as they will have an 11-2 record and the Big 12 #2 goes to the Cotton Bowl...how funny is that gonna be for MU to have a season like they did, and not even make BCS Bowl game...

MU would be 11-2, KU would be 11-1, so that would make MU the #3 team if MU loses to OU
theres no way the computers are gonna rank a MU team that lost twice to OU, over a KU team that only had 1 loss.
MU controls it's own destiny, and it must win to either play in the NC Game, or if they lose to OU, then will play in the Cotton Bowl.

Looks like the AP is going with MU at #1! This means that is they win next win, they are definately going to the big house. If they loose, who the hell knows and they will most likely loose. Why? Because it has just been that kind of season.
KU had a great season and they should be proud. Much better to be a KU fan then an FSU., MIA, ND, or Neb fan that is for sure.

Sorry to burst your bubble MB.. but a title shot is a longshot for KU. A BCS bowl is still likely, but no championship.
1). Kansas played a weak schedule, in which 1 loss looks just as bad or worse than other teams 2 losses. Look at Hawaii for example. Had Hawaii lost to Boise, they wouldn't even be in consideration for a BCS bowl. SOS will play a huge role in deciding the 2 teams if Missouri and WVU both lose.
2). OSU and UGA are done for the year also. There is no way possible that Kansas could jump over 2 idle teams, when they are also idle. Since the 01' Oklahoma debacle, I don't see a team that doesn't win their conference going to the championship again. If LSU wins, they would most likely get a bid over UGA for the title game anyways.
3). Should Missouri lose the Big 12 title game, Oklahoma will take the conference bid. The Bowl committee will not have forgotten KU's loss to Missouri the week before. They will most likely take Missouri as an at-large, regardless of their two losses. (Which would come from the same team)
Given a conference can only tie into 2 BCS bowls, I would cheer for Mizzou even if they're your rival. They might control your chance at BCS bowl as well as their chance for a title shot. It looks unfair and confusing, but until they come out with some sort of playoff, the BCS is going to be one giant clusterfuck.

BTW, one thing that is strange that you need to get used to being new to the whole "we may win the NC" thing, you have to start rooting for teams that you play even if they have beaten you. This is how you get points no matter how big a rival they might be.

this is where your wrong...KU will get an automatic BCS Bowl bid...they can't shun KS just because of one loss. MU will have 2 losses, both to the same team, they would be relegated to the Cotton Bowl because KU would have the better record, or KU would be the Big 12 BCS Bowl Bid, and OU or MU would be the at large bid.
Are you drunk? As crazy at this season has been, I think KU is OUT of the NC chances. Hope is always good, but you need a miracle. KU can't recover from this late lost especially to Mizzou to still make the big stage.

I don't care if it pushes us to a lower bowl game, or eliminates us from bowl contention or whatever....I WILL NEVER ROOT FOR MU OR K-STATE so long as I shall live. That totally goes against my football religion.
SCREW MU, SCREW K-STATE.

There is no way in hell Kansas should get into a BCS bowl let alone the title game, they probably will but dont deserve it. They only played one good team all year and got beat worse than the score would indicate.
Kansas is more over-rated than Ohio State. At least OSU has beaten a ranked team. Hell Id say Michigan, Penn State, and Wisconsin are all better than anyone KU has played other than Missouri.
Kansas was just ranked as high as they were because they didnt have to play Texas or Oklahoma and didnt get Missouri until the last game.
Here is going to be your Bowl games
BCS Title Game - #1 West Virginia vs #2 Ohio State
Rose Bowl - USC vs Michigan
Sugar Bowl - LSU vs Oklahoma
Fiesta Bowl - Kansas vs Hawaii
Orange Bowl - Virginia Tech vs Georgia

The BCS would be extremely stupid to have Michigan in the Rose Bowl....they will look for a better machup for USC...Ohio St? LSU?....apparently from what I've been reading the SEC will more than likely not take a bid to play in the Rose Bowl, but everyone I know would LOVE to see a USC vs LSU game....guaranteed that game would be much bigger than the NC game.

I actually agree a USC vs. LSU would be perfect for the Rose Bowl, and it would be a great game.

And to be honest USC vs Georgia would be a better game than USC vs LSU. USC and GA are both playing awesome right now and LSU imo is over-rated.

a USC vs Georgia game would be sweet.
I'm not sure how all the bowl stuff works, but I know the Rose Bowl is usually the Pac 10 conference champ vs Big 10 conference champ, however if either conference champ goes to the NC game the BCS can override it and stick in another BCS team, which can be one of the top 12 teams. So that's why I said they'd be stupid to put Michigin in, it needs to be another BCS elgible team since the Rose Bowl is a BCS bowl.
So Georgia would be perfect, but I have no idea who they will pick assuming USC beats UCLA

Come on you cant be serious.
Teams with a winning record:
Ohio State - 7 (5 of those games were back to back)
Kansas - 3 (1 was Central Michigan)
Teams with a winning record beaten:
Ohio State - 6
Kansas - 2
Number of teams they played that were ranked when played
Ohio State - 5 (Purdue, Penn State, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois)
Kansas - 2 (Kansas State, Missouri)
Teams currently in top 30 beaten
Ohio State - 3 (Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan)
Kansas - 0
Kansas played 0 teams in their non-conference scheudle from a BCS conference, OSU beat Washington on the road. Imo 3 or 4 teams that Ohio State are better than any single team Kansas beat.
