Welcome to the forums! Got any pictures? First things I would suggest are Gears (3.90 or higher) and a reprogrammer, lowering springs, and then work out from there.

lol, i was JUST about to say:

word round the street says if u dont lower it..it dont belong round these parts.

Though I will get springs in a bit, I agree they should be one of the first few mods.

I was thinking about some 4.10's.. I don't get on the highway much
so I think it would be ok.. I was looking into putting maybe a 1'' drop
on the front.. and also a chip... any suggestions on that?
and for the pictures I have some but i'm getting it detailed on
thursday so I'd like to wait.. all I have are the dealership photos..
and they are not the best angles..

and about my user name ( I know no one asked..)
I waited 5 years to get the car.. :blob5:

I run autolite coppers but NGKs are a good choice but more expensive.
I run a drop in k&n filter with air silencer removed. It yeilds close results to a 200 dollar intake system so I dont see the point of upgrading.
Ive got the accufab 70mm tb/plenum combo.
And always use synthetic oils. If you can use amsoil, get that. If not just go with mobile 1.
Exhaust systems are all choice. Some like drone, some dont. Some like LOUD, some dont. Some like RASPY, some dont. You get the idea...

Lots of questions there - lol

1 -I run Autolite 103's. They are copper and one-stage colder. I use them because I run nitrous.

2 - As far as CAI goes, some work...some not so much. Either way, gains will be minimal at best. Choosing a CAI will also depend on other factors and other mods. Some bend unmder the fenderwall and some are straight shot. Since I drag-race (though not enough) I prefer the straight shot because when you pull the passenger-side head light, it will act like ram-air. CAI's are over-ratd for the most part.

3 - TB's are a common mod. When replacing by themselves and leaving the plenum stock, do not expect an increase in power, in fact, you will loose power. Replacing the plenum and TB is a good solid mod that will net you 10 - 14 hp. Stick with either Accufab package or a C&L plenum and BBK TB. Use either a 70 mm TB or a TB 75 mm sepending on the plenum.

4 - Oil? I use Mobil 1 and change about every 5 k. The last time around, I used Mobil 1 15k oil and a K&N oil filter. I only drive my car 8 - 10 miles per year, so I will probably just change it annually now or twice per year.

5 - Exhaust? Big question there. Headers are a pain in the **** to swap, get minimal gains, and are expensive. Unless, you go with the right set of long-tubes. You will see 15 hp, but still expensive and a pain to install. More common is to just swap the mid pipe and catback. There are many, many options. Research that decision and much is based on personal taste.

Just took up a new hobby. Mustangs. :hello2: Purchased a 96 4.6 GT. Do not know much about cars, but wanting to learn really bad. Anyone willing to lace me up on making my Stang one lean, mean street fighting machine? Friend of mine owns a 95 5.0 with a super charger, would just tickle me pink to smoke that cars butt.

Default Silencer

Hey, I know I'm new to the mustang world but I saw on a site (I think fordmuscle.com) that removing the air silencer actually creates a 2-3 hp loss!
They dynoed a recently reprogrammed gt and then removed the silencer and lost 3 hp, put it back on and got 3 back. It doesn't make sense to me b/c it is getting rid of one more intake restriction...what do you guys think?
