Default Howdy Howdy

How's it goin peoples, I'm new here to the forums, and hope I can help some people out, just as I need some help myself

I recently purchased my 06 GT, and I <3 it. Lol.

Pretty much have always owned a mustang, had a 89 fox 5.0, 97 V6, and now my baby...06 4.6L GT...

Everyone think's I'm crazy for buying this GT because of gas prices and all that jazz, but I tell them time and time again, I didn't buy this for gas mileage *or I would have bought a civic xD*

Anyways, back to the car...

I bought this car, so I could have more HP, and have a good time, and to add some modifications, now that I am in a good job, and can afford to do some **** to my car.

I had some questions for you guys.

Most of my friends drive mustangs, and my buddy Jason, drives a 88 Fox Body, with a crate motor among other things.

He says first things first, K&N Typhoon intake, BBK ceramic shorty headers, magnaflow high flow cats, and 40s Flowmasters.

I couldn't agree more with him, but I was also looking to add the Roush hood/quarter scoops, along with a throttle body, bigger FI, pulley, along with some others that escape me at the moment.

This is my first car to be modded, and as you can see I know a lot about the mods, I just want to have more than 1 opinion.

Any Takers?

The first thing you are going to need is a tuner because anything that you do to those new motors won't be effective unless it's tuned properly it will just throw error codes at you
next I would suggest upgrading your rear end gearing to 3.73 or 4.10 because from what I hear thats the most bang for your buck

I don't know why people are just suggesting the cats.

I'll make it simple:
Cold Air Intake with Tuner (Xcal3 or whoever)
4.10 gears
H or X Pipe (catted or o/r)
Cat Back

I wouldn't worry about headers just yet. Wait until you have done some H/C/I work, or FI.

Throw on some drag radials and you have a 12 second car, all day.

haha thanks guys, glad to see I'm already welcomed into the community!

Steeda97, as you have brought up the h/xpipe, does an x pipe or a y pipe really make a difference? All it is, is changing the flow of exhast to a different way, I have heard numerous people say that the difference is miniscule, and no need to invest. I'd love to hear someone elses opinion!

Also, I was going to put the 1.5'' Ford Racing lowering springs in there, I think the 05+ mustangs look shmexy with them. :P

Raise your hand if you want to see a couple pictures!

Your car now comes stock with an H Pipe. When choosing an X or H Pipe, your choosing sound. But, it also is much less restricting than the stock pipe. See Ford did pretty well with the stock exhaust setup on the S197's. Alot of people only go with an Axle-Back, for sound, and then call it a day. I would re-do the whole thing, and make sure you have that tuner before you do anything.

Im assuming they are FRPP C Springs. Go with an Eibach Pro Kit, or H&R SS's. Pick up a nice set of Tokico Shocks/Struts, and if necessary, some Caster/Camber plates, and you'll be good to go. If you don't want to do all that and just want springs I'd go with just an Eibach Pro Kit.

Who here thinks that a Hood pin/latch kit looks ugly?

I fell in love with it after I saw the chopped 67 GT500 from Gone In 60 Seconds...

And now...FOR THE PICS!:

Take off that Team Ford sticker on the back!

The rims that were on it don't look too bad, will look better when the cars lowered a bit.

and NO to the fake hood pins. lol.

Nice looking car!

I was going to get real hood pins :'(

Fake = well...fake.... SO YEAH!

I plan on taking the Team Ford **** off the back, I had to threaten to sue them just to get this car lol, because they sold my trade-in 97 green V6 at the auction before I even signed the contract or title over to them.

I was like... d00d....I got you on 3 felonies. Now, give me the car I want for the price I want or suffer the wrath of Blake! BuahAHAHAhahAAHAha. Needless to say they gave in, I drove off the lot, in a 25k mile, 06 Mustang GT for 19k cash, out the door, tax tag and title. Can we say pwnt? I brough them down from 26k haha.... fun times. I thought Wayne Brady was going to have to choke a bitch.

So needless to say, they werent my best friends. Also, the check engine light has come on 4 times over the last month I have had it. And they keep expecting me to drive 55 minutes, not reimburse me for gas, and to jsut tell me that it was my fuel cap. ******. I hope the Dealership owner's GT500 loses to an 82 civic.

The Shaker System uses the stock hood on the 05+s. Its pretty neat theres a indent on the inside of the stock 05+ hoods to make cutting out the hole for the shaker alot easier. Tape it up, break out the saw-zall, easy ****.

I mean, I was also thinking about doing Roush hood/quarter scoops.

Opinion on those?

Long live AmericanMuscle.com :P

Already got my quarter window AmericanMuscle.com decals on their way.

Aswell as 2x 4.6 High Performance emblems to put ontop of the side panel GT emblems.

Yeah man, theres a brand new 08 GT/CS at my local ford dealership that is DIRT cheap. They are trying to get rid of it, they've had it for well over a year.

I was thinking about buying the 08, then adding that super shaker system. But with the 2010's coming out, I might have to wait.

What do you think about my idea of putting the 4.6 High Performances on the side panels?

I get mixed opinions.

I personally like Cervinis Window Louvers. The hood scoop, don't do. Save your money. You could put it towards a new hood, or something else. Its non-functional and doesn't look like anything special.

As for the emblems, I wouldn't put them on top of the GT emblems, i'd take the GT emblems off, and put the 4.6 ones in its place.

But thats just me. lol.

I always thought the GT emblem was HUGE. Do you think 4.6 High Performance would look better in place of the Metro GT emblem?

Alright, I got a question for you guys. As stated above, I just got this car about a month ago. So far I have raced:

06 Nissan 350 - Killed em
96 Riced out Supra - Got Killed
BMW X5 - I lol'd.
08 Inifinity G35 - Killed em
28 Ricers - I lol'd then killed em all

Does that sound about right in a stock 06 GT?

I must have had 4 lengths on the G35 and 350Z....

Also raced a TA this morning on the Highway, omw to work. He honked at me, keep in mind it was 6am, and I was in the mind state *ay f^ck you budday* so I honked back...then he honked and took off, I was like qoah wtf?! so he got the drop on me, from a completely illegal 3-honk <_< that bitch, needless to say I cought him in 3rd, then once we got to about 135 he backed off, and I laughed...then got to work in 2 minutes....vs the regular 15....LOL

Do these races sound about right?
