Default Hi from Edmonton

I used to own a 88 LX hatch 5.0 years ago and had so much fun with it.Went to imprts for a while and now i'm looking at getting back into some real torque numbers. I have my eye on a 91 GT. IT's got 250,000km on the motor with a leaking rear main seal.Rear fenders are rusted but just over the wheels. The paint on the roof, hood and hatch is damaged so i'm looking at painting the whole thing. Already has equal length shorties, ram air , new exhaust(not sure) sub frame connectors and new rear tires. Haven't heard it run yet but he assures me it runs good. Does this sound like a good project car? Maybe get the rear seal fixed and paint it.Maybe some day down the road get into the engine when it really needs it. The guy is only asking 3G which seems pretty fair but i want to go get some quotes on how much to paint it. Oh yeah , interior is black and in excellent condition. What do you guys think?

no... it sounds like the sorta project that someone else beat the hell out of. You should be able to pick up a much better car for 3K... even 3K canadian.

It needs the engine gotten into already, rust is cancer. You can only see 10% of what's actually there.

Pass on it.

I agree....keep looking. You don't wanna get stuck with a project car (unless that is what you are looking for). There are plenty of good stangs out there.
