Selling the '65....
I apologize for the long ad, but I felt it was necessary lol.
Alright guys, sadly I'm having to sell my '65 GT350 Replica. With 36,500 ORIGINAL miles.
We bought the car back in July of 2007. It was a project car for me and my dad. The car is originally a Fastback, but of course has been transformed into a GT350 Replica. When we first got the car home it had a few issues. The driver side rear floor panels were rusted out so we replaced the entire floor panel. The 4-speed toploader that it had originally had a broken gear so we replaced it with the World Class T5. And then the 9" rear it did have we swapped for one with disc brakes and 31 spline axles. So no expense so far has been spared for this car, and although its not a 100% mint show car, it still turns plenty of heads and is definitely not a car I want to get rid off
Car runs strong and everything on it has been either restored or replaced with newer parts. My asking price is $30,000 OBO, I know with the economy that may be steep but with the mods it has I believe its still a steal. The only thing I'd be willing to trade for would be a semi-low miles Mazdaspeed 3 or SVT Focus plus cash on my side of course. Thanks for looking guys.
I'll list the specs first and then the bads (if you really consider them bad lol)
Engine:
302 bored .030 over with flat top pistons
GT40 heads ported and flow benched to a Victor JR intake
Jomar Stud Girdles
Competition valvetrain springs and rockers
Lunati Cam #30613 (specs below)
MSD Ignition
Edelbrock 1406 Performer Series Carb w/ electric choke
Shorty Headers (can't remember brand) with Stage 8 locking bolts
Drivetrain:
World Class Borg Warner T5 (The gear ratios I can give if needed)
Ford 9" Rear
Moser 31 spline axles
4.10 FRPP Gears
New Timken Bearings
Custom made one-piece steel driveshaft from Denny's Driveshaft
Suspension:
11" disc brakes front and rear
JMC Twin Master Cylinder
SS lines for all the brakes
Brand new front springs and leaf springs
Torque boxes were replaced with the floor panels
Have a lot of suspension parts laying in a box that have yet to be put on as well (all OEM replacements)
Exterior:
Toyota Spectra Blue (Code 8M6 - Very close to Vista Blue and matches my GT very well) with white stripes
Shelby Front Valence
Shelby Side Scoops
Shelby Hood
American Racing Torq Thrust Wheels (15x7)
BFG Radial T/As (Front 205/60 Rear 225/60)
Shelby Replicated Side Exhaust
Brand new Headlights and housings
Also, the entire underbody of the car is coated with POR15. So no worries about rust anymore. I lost two pairs of glasses to that stuff too lol.
Interior:
Brand new interior from carpet to the seats and rear deck.
Autometer gauges for water temp and oil pressure mounted on bottom of dash
Classic "running pony" lap belts (both sides)
I'm sure I'm forgetting a few things, but those are the main things. Most of the parts on the car as far as suspension/drivetrain/exterior go have been replaced since we bought it. And we've only put 5,000 miles on it since '07 and thats mostly a weekend drive every now and then, or a drive go to a car show or take pictures lol.
Now for the cons, and this is being very picky about it all for being an almost 50-year old car.
The paint is not immaculate, it was already painted when we bought the car. There are a few rock chips from normal street use and also a few mishap spots in the paint (two small puddle spots, and one spot were the blue bled onto the white of the stripes). Still a show car, and has gotten plenty of great compliments at the local car show. The chrome trim around the a-pillar windows could be replaced as well, have a bit of oxidization to them.
The factory gauge cluster should probably be replaced. The gas gauge is off and shows half when its actually full. We've replaced the fuel level floaters and its still off so I'm pretty sure its the cluster. The cluster was also never replaced from the way it looks (some oxidation), so if you wanted show car quality that'd be a must.
Parking brake lever doesn't work. Have a new one, have just yet to put it in. So, just a minor thing there. The rest of the cabling is fine, just the part inside the cabin is broke.
The last thing is the motor (not really a con). It runs fine, but it was the only thing that I haven't touched myself other than the intake and carb. The rest was all there when we bought the car, and its just an OCD of mine of not having my personal stamp on it. Motor runs fine, idles great, and will keep up with my bolt-on/4.10 '08 GT. So its definitely strong. The only reason it hasn't already been rebuilt is because I had plans on going FI (a Termi swap actually lol) so I left it as is for now since it runs fine.
As stated before, the car is immaculate in my eyes considering how old it is and the fact that it is a street driven car. The car has never been at the track, launched hard, or beaten on. I don't NEED to sell the car so lowball offers aren't apprecated. My father passed away this last February, and although the car holds many great memories and is definitely one of my dreams cars, with our current situation I could much rather use a different car than another mustang. No expense has been spared for this car, and I'd love to see it go to a good home.
PM me or e-mail me (cody08mustanggt@gmail.com) with any questions or offers.

Car is located in Kearney, MO (just north of Kansas City).

Cody

As well as some classic car sites.
And thanks for the wishes.

It costs $50 to put it on the website for 4 weeks. Versus most charge that to have it on until it sells.
I know its worth it, but I'm going to hold out until I think its necessary.
