Question Steeda Underdrive Pulleys

Just ordered the Steeda pulleys for my 03GT. Wanted to see if anyone has any hints for installing them. Also wanted to know if they come with good intructions or if i should find them somwhere else. Let me know if there is anything i should look out for during the installation. Thanks

I've heard the Idler pulley is a biotch to get off. Other than that, just another bolt on.

I thought my installer mentioned that they'res a special tool. It might not be like a "specific" tool but something not as common, he didnt really clarify. That's all I know about the install of them.

install if you have an air gun for the alt pulley takes about 30 mins i would say.
I just did mine about 3 hours ago took 34mins total.

the hard part is taken the crank off. You need the harmonic balancer pulley puller for cars with the 3 bolts you cant use the claw kind to get it off. but still its very easy. And just like when i had them on my truck i felt a little improvement in teh upper Rpms. only the track will tell what really happens.

Hopefully on wednesday i will have an update for you on that.

could you feel the change when you drove the car after installation? I also heard that your accessories like your air conditioning dont run as well, is that true?

I felt some low end power after installing them on my previous stang. Yes, my accessories didn't work as well.....I mean they worked fine, but the A/C and heat didn't blow as hard.

my a/c is still just as cold, and my headlights dont dim when sitting at lights with all lights on an d the stereo (including the mach1000). I do have an optima battery which i am sure is helping that out alot cause it has so much energy in it.

okay so when did putting pullies on a car make your heat and AC not blow as hard...maybe the AC isn't as cold but MAYBE....and how hard is it to do god danm pullies.... oh ya optima batteries put on teh same voltage and everything as a stock battery they can just be mounted anywhere... get some common sense... You know there are ricers everywhere adn well.... you're just a bunch of "big block ricers".... :loser:

I am afraid you are wrong there. The whole point of using there battery is the design it holds energy longer and more consistantly, why do you think people use them? So like i said more then likly thats why i dont see my lights dim i think.

As for install like i said before took me i think it was 35 or 40mins to do total very easy if you have air gun, pulley puller, and tolls on hand ready to go. And you need the puller the has 3 bolts that screw into the harmonic balancer and pull it off, the claw style is a no no.

I hope the big block ricer helped you some.

For the love of .......ok let me clarify even further everything everyone has been true except for the whole battery not as good of a charge...

First off Steeda has done testing on these pulleys and its partly true that it does not give as good a charge but not one so great that it would have a significant affect not one you would be able to tell unles you had a big sound system.

Second Skinnye true a lot of people use the Optima battery because it can be relocated and can take a roll over and so forth.........now because of the Optima's design and because it's a dry cell power it can deliver higher peak amps faster than conventional batteries that also mean vise versa can be cycled in just as good as it puts out thats why most audio specialist use them. Annother good fact or two is Optima batteries hold charges better during periods of nonuse always a plus as well as they can do all of these things without decreasing the batteries lifespan.......guys might want to get your facts straight I used to work in the automotive part of sears back home.

Any audio specialist would agree with me

I didn't notice a difference with the U/D pulleys effecting my accessories or battery charge. I don't even notice my headlights dim or blah blah like everyone says. I used an impact drill to make things easier
