Also have a 300 dollar cart full of fittings and crap on Summit waiting for me to be able to ******* log in. They're doing maint on the servers so login is down right now... grrrr.

0mpg driveway.

Last time it was on the street it got around 17/24 or thereabouts if I stayed out of the gas. Gets pretty bad if you're deep in the pedal all the time.

Been gone for a bit, but I'm back.

Had to do some restruction in my life and get back on my feet. I'm going in the right direction now!

Any how, I need to get caught up on who's doing what! Some one school me real quick!

My car has been sitting untouched for 4 months eagerly awaiting me to get it tuned. It drives great but is sluggish. I did a test drive for a 300# buddy and the car was crazy mad fast. Not sure what happened their, but the car did come alive for a second! Maybe the extra wieght put the engine in a timing strain just right!

Red, your project(bang bang) is still on my mind. I've been talking to a few other guys locally about it and they seem intrested too. Why make one set when you can make 10+
Thanks for the gifts, by the way! They will compliment the tune when I get to it. Sadly, they still sit in the same spot where I opened the box,......my office

Great to be back on here!

Hi guys, finally got the siezed 5.4 3v, the block seems to be a windsor because of the main design, with pins and sidebolts, and no jackscrews, The only difference between a 5.4 2v lightining engine are the engine mounts, not the engine itself, so I'll build it with forged goodies, I already have a lightning crank, jdm engineering rods, and manley dished pistons, best of all, I got all of this for free from diferent places My goal is to build a turbo 5.4 2v with a hardball'r intake on my 00 gt, and use the 4.6 short block with the 3v heads on my girlfriend's four eyed fox

here is a picture of the 5.4 3v, and pictures of the 5.4 2v im building for a 03 lighting..

plumbing for the intercooler finished yesterday. Put all new fittings on the hoses (got rid of my mock-up fittings, man they were ugly). Put the hood pin kit in the new hood. Still have to put a couple more pop rivets in the hood pin dealies but I ran out last night. Today, going to try and get the methanol kit to come on at 70% throttle and ratchet up from there. Also going to put the nitrous kit in in intercooler spraydown mode.

Yo R3D, what are you going to do with your upper rad hose. I have the same problem! I think I might look for a 45 degree bent aluminum tube the dia of the neck, and seld an extension on. That way, I can use the stock upper hose. It fits quite nice if you back it away from the neck like yours is in the pic. You would just need to extend your neck to meet the hose where it lies.

I'll probably be able to use a little section of metal pipe as an extension to keep the hose pushed back away from the blower belt and pullies. Cut maybe 3" off the hose right in front of the spout, connect that small section to the spout on the motor, connect the 5-7" (a guess) of pipe to the short section and then connect that to the long section and onto the radiator. Should require 2 extra hose clamps and a 1.25" ID aluminum or stainless pipe section.

i used the stocl lightning hose it fit perfect no problems, just put a reducer on the radiator end because the lightning hose is a little bit bigger than the gt hose but it bolts right up perfect the reducer was like 2 bucks

I dont suppose you guys know of a fitting to adapt stainless hose to the stock (fuel) hardline, I'd kinda like to get rid of the rubber hose all together.

On a side note, I had to do alittle grinding on the bosses for the fuel rails on the HPS intake to get the trickflow/areomotive rails to bolt up.

I've got the first type fittings, and if I'm not mistaken I saw the second type on summit and it listed them for chevys.

the second one fits our cars at the chassis mounted hardline. The first one will mate your stock fuel rail to the -6AN line that you've run from the 2nd fitting to your fuel rail or Y block. If you use the 2nd one and aftermarket rails there's no need for the first really.

That being said, where'd you see the one in black? The ones I saw on summit were blue, might as well match the rest of my fittings.

I think mine's blue. Ordered from summit.

Anybody need any -8AN 90deg hose ends for rubber core braided stainless? I have a couple spare. Could possibly trade for a couple -6AN 90deg hose ends. They're Russel.

Guys question. What kind of power can I expect out of the lightning supercharger set-up?
I have fully ported PI heads, some custom cams and a MMR900 rotating assembly.

Will I be able to make good power out of it? or should I just do the hardball'r 5.4 intake and a centrifiugal/turbo?

based on what I've seen around the boards with the stock blower... around 550rwhp before you're the stock compressor starts to tap out. Some porting to the case and a better plenum and TB and you can tickle 600. After that you should really look to a more efficient compressor like a whipple or KB or centrifugal. Best part of that is you get some visibility back but you get to keep the intake mounted intercooler.

Im running the Lightning Upper Hose and its a perfect fit.The hose is a little big on the radiator side but i used 3 inch long piece of factory hose over the nipple then slipped the L hose on and clamped it.

Here is a pic...
