i could guess but that would be cheating since i already know

hey r3d when you have time try it at ~14 psi, i'm thinking i'll trade the s-trim in for a T trim or sell it and get a novi2000RR

480rwhp + assuming that there's an air-air intercooler in there somewhere at 14lbs. T t-trim would put you over 500 as would the novi. The smaller 4.6 oriented compressors are a tad small for the 5.4 IMO. Properly sized turbos at the same boost will net 60-80hp more at the peak and a lot of tq through the boosted rpm band.

these should be okay. (twin 57mm hybrids. volvo wastegate actuators,.70 compressor a/r,.63 exhaust a/r these will support a little over 500hp each) this is what the guy i got them from listed. there is a turbo place here that wants to offer help on my project so i should be okay with these puppies.

15psi with twins should be 550-600bhp or better depending on the cam. Turbos are made or broke by the cam timing.

Proto: Chiltons has all the install manual you need. Parts list varies depending on what you end up doing. Besides, this way keeps people checking in and asking questions.

intake you need a sullivan
wiring same as 2v to cobra motor
no exhaust issues other than fitment like the 5.4 2v

the cylinder heads are physically larger and you will need to use custom motor mounts to clear the hydrabooster

eer custom motor mounts sounds a little tricky

so there are pretty much no wiring issues then.

and will the stock exhaust headers work on it still...are there any aftermarket shorties that will fit??

Contact Maximum Motorsports and ask about the 1/2" (12mm) k-member spacers. I've chatted with MM's owner several times about the specifics so it'd be quick and easy to do. I don't know if they're in production but they're easy for them to chop up and fairly cheap to make. That takes care of the whole hydrobooster clearance issue. The 00' Cobra R used a 12mm drop on the motor to clear so we figured that was a good starting point.

in general... without details it's hard to say.

see above. It's easier than you think. FRPP shorties will work and IIRC there's an aftermarket set of longtubes for the 00' R (Bassani?). They'd be about a grand but damn if it wouldn't be raucous and fast.

Myillwill... damn. S'all I can say is dayum.

i thought the only 5.4 4v longtubes were for the gt500?

i know MMR sells a turbo set up for a 5.4 4v in a 99-04 chasis

so r3dn3ck are these just spacers that you but in between the motor and the k-member or is it actually a different k-member alltogether

would the spacers not mess up the driveline angles though?

i guess if they did it in the "R" it must not be too bad, i'll probably do either that or the lower solid mounts so that i can fit the 5.4 with NX plate under a stock hood

You guys that switched to coil overs what # springs did you use, I want my front end up closer to stock and the 175's I have seem to be way low, I have them adjusted up alot but I dont want to start binding coils. I was thinking of getting the road race version, I think they are 250 lb rating.

Myillwill, Nice muffs, I bet they "suck" lol, cant wait see them on, we want pics! and video!

R3d is their a way we can update the poll, so it reflects the guys that have finished, as they may have voted differently when they started months ago.

i'd have to have the option of changing mine every other month.

- got it in....
- took it out
- got it running...
- took it out again..
- running again with LT's
- out again for new rings....

just spacers but there's more to it than just the k-member drop in some applications.

Yeah it can but not really an issue on the 1/2"/12mm drop. At some of the higher value drops you end up needing to lower the tranny mount and adjust pinion angle.

250 is pretty soft. Very mild riding. I prefer 300 as a minimum unless you're prone to frequent trips to the drag strip and your rear is set up accordingly.

175 is a drag spring... it loses a lot on the street. I personally use 350's now and I'm finding them a bit squishy with the 5.4 and aluminum intake so I'm gunna slap on my 375's. Mine is set up purely for carving corners and daily street. It's currently firm but very manageable up front. You can get really high wheel rates with coil-over conversion without making the ride as rough as it would be with regular lowering springs.

I'll check it out and see. We'll probably all have to re-vote.
