Default KB 1.7 kit

I've decided to make my next mod the KB 1.7 kit from MPH! It'll take awhile, but I'm getting the intercooled kit. What issues do you think I'm going to see? I'm gonna keep the 4.10s

One hell of a traction problem with street tires and all that torque, lol. The KB kit is an excellent all around kit. I would make your next invest ment a really good suspension kit from Maximum motorsports

Be prepared to shift very fast I notice my car shifts very fast with the nitrous and traction is a issue especially off the line

Just put some Deep Dish 17's in the back with 315/40?/17 M/T ET Streets. Then you shouldnt have any problems.

If I read it correctly we're talking a KB 1.7 intercooled kit installed and tuned by MPH all in that price of $6,350. I'm wondering if this setup would need a new fuel pump

OK, I get it, that is the Mongoose kit. That really is a lot of money, yet not so bad either when you consider out the door and done!

If I decide to go with a Vortech, I am looking at about what? $3500 for the blower, MAF, injectors, yada yada yada. That does not include a cooler. Dave Kaufman charges about $500 for install, then figure on about $200 for dyno, then add another say $200 for incidentals and "aw zhits". That would put me north of $4400 DONE!

Question is, is the KB worth two more large? If we were to line up and race, I bet it would be a driver's race or depend on tires and suspension mods.

I believe the mongoose kit for the vortech includes the xcal 2 with tuning from MPH and I believe they charged $550 for install. but yeah it's cheaper to go that route, but then again it won't be intercooled.. the intercooler is what.. $1700?

I plan on getting a Vortech SQ and stayin at 8psi of boost, non intercooled DD. I'm probably gonna get it on ebay, knowing the risks but you can get good deals and a lot are hardly or never used. The centri charger usually runs better 1/4, but only by maybe .1 of a second at the same boosts. They seem to pull much harder.

The kenne bell setup could be considered more of a "street racer" setup. You will see full boost at 2500 rpm which is going to get you out of the whole a hell of a lot faster. In 1/4 runs the twin roots vs centrifigal comes down to whos a better drive and whos got more done. Youll see less of a MAX horsepower rating but your powerband is a lot more straight.

Both on street tires at a drag strip the vortech would probably launch alot better and pull good up top. But on slicks the Kenne Bell will dominate. From a roll I can see a good race.

i paid 5700 for my whole kit but i installed myself. if you look at a KB dyno graph and centri graph you will notice that the kb's have max torque at 2-2500 rpms across the board to 5k when i have max torque at 4500.

Well, sound like a good idea, but i don't see how thats gonna happen, seeing as how Mickey Tho. et street radials don't come in that size.
