Default Traction Control Hookup

Hey I'm pretty new to mustangs , I got a V8 4.6l mustang about a month ago. The person who bought the car from the dealer apparently didn't buy the Traction Control option, but when my friend installed a new shifter in it, he noticed that the traction control hookup is present, just not installed. Is that really the case? And would there be any benefit from buying the new console piece with the traction button and hooking it up? Thanks

Also, the other night the keyless entry system stopped working, I tried replacing the battery, but that did not work. I looked in the Haynes book and it only showed replacing the battery, and said the reciever was in the trunk. Is it serviceable or should I just get it replaced?

Take your car into a ford dealer and they should be able to reprogram your remote for you in like 2 minutes. For traction control youll have to take apart your hvac/radio bezel and see if you have the harness for traction control. it would be the far right one and I believe its pink or orange. You might have to buy the traction control button from ford and put it in, but thats 20 seconds to pop it into place and another 20 seconds to hook it up to the back of the button.

FWIW, and I don't actually recommend this, you can remove your two rear ABS sensors (wires start under the back seat... really easy to remove) and that will effectively disable your ABS and traction control.

I have mine like that right now (swapped from IRS and waiting for new sensors to come in) and it's like driving a real car. No computer making braking modulation decisions or bogging my motor when I break traction coming into second gear.
