whitepony, ive been asking people the same thing about a transgo shift kit...from what ive been hearing it is a pretty good mod for us automatics. I've even read that it can shave .2 off of the quarter mile, and for $120 thats not bad at all. I am going to order mine in probably the next couple weeks, i'll let you know how it turns out

I'm doing that shift kit, along with a tranny cooler, 3000 stall converter and 3.73 gears. All at once. hoping this might knock off 0.5secs off the 1/4

i like them but i would HIGHLY i mean highly recomend a tranny cooler also. one that atleast is rated for 18,000gvw. i had a 28,000gvw B&M cooler on mine it never went over 175* this is in a ford F150 though so those run a tad hotter you wont need one that big.
and summit has them for like 107 shipped. just get the transgo for the AODE tranny.

tell me what you guys think about this...i think i am going to skip the converter and just add a shift kit and a tranny cooler so then i can move onto the vt stage 1 cam...i am going to order the transgo shift kit from summit, but let me know if you think this is a good tranny cooler for my car and if the price is reasonable(i am clueless about the tranny cooler)

http://www.powerandperformancenews.c...Category_Code=

^^^ thats the tranny cooler im looking into getting...please post comments on to whether or not thats the one i should get and if just that and the shift kit will be good enough with a stage 1 cam...thanks

even a totaly stock car needs a tranny cooler. the number one killer in most auto trannys deaths is heat. if you drive hard or tow etc.. you need one. the one you listed is really big you dont need one that big.

and while you dont need a convertor you should get one as it will help you go faster.

Here is the part number for a cooler that would be a good size for a mustang its part number "BMM-70264" search www.summitracing.com for that one.

Here is the part number for the shift kit you need for all AODE trannys part number is " TRG-AODE"

the cooler is $49 and the shift kit is $116. the transgo used to be 99 ad with shipping 107 i guess they are alot more popular now so the price has gone up. also i would recomend nothing higher then the number 2 setting 3 is only for built trannys as your stock bands will get there *** handed to them with that.

A trans go shift kit is one of the worst mods you can do to your auto.

Question Are you magic?

Unless you drive an already supercharged mustang, you not making 360rwhp with those mods! and if so swap the pull and get some real power.

Changing the line pressure isnt exactly good for the tranny either, but its better/ safer then the trans go. The best way to go with the stock tranny is the J-mod, converter, and tranny cooler. Do a search on www.modulardepot.com for shift kits and the j-mod. Heres some more good info, http://www.tccoa.com/articles/tranny/index.html#
