Question oil on sparkplug

I have a 99 cobra with less than 29,000 miles on it. It looses a quart of oil every 1000 to 1500 miles. Had dealer do a compression check, 110 to 118 on cylinders and checked pressure on coolant side. All OK by them. I pulled all plugs the other day and found oil on NO.8. The oil was below the seat of the plug and above the treads. The mechanic who did the compression check didn't see this. What do you think is going on. No visible signs of smoke at the tail pipes. Lot of black inside the tail pipes though.

Need some good HELP please, dealer doen't know anything!

If it's above the threads, I would think there was a bad valve cover seal letting oil into the spark plug valley

Yes, it possible is a bad valve cover gasket from what I hear. I also found out that these DOHC engine tend to eat oil if you run them hard all the time. Is this true with yours? No puddles under the car!!! Please!?
