Took my '96 Gt to Autozone to get the engine light checked on. Code P1443 came up and it is: Evaporative Emission Control System Control Valve. My questions are. 1. How do I fix this? 2. Where can I get it? 3. Around how much to fix this? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

 

Try clearing the code first and see if it comes back. It may be a false code. I had one once.

 

Paid for the part at Ford for 30 bucks. Took 5 minutes to put in. Thanks slapnuts.

 

I took my car to Firestone 'cause the rpms, when idiling, was almost at 0. So I cut it off and walked over there and they came over to check it. Took it in, and called me a day or two later....The guy before me took a Honda superchip and attached it to the PCU and totally fried it. So I had to order a new Mustang superchip and PCU. $700 bucks, good fun.
