Default Spedo gear?

If I order the motive 3.73 for my 96, will it come with a spedo adjustment gear? If not, where can I order one?

You only get the gears. I'm not for sure, but I think with your model, you can get a speedcal for your speedo.

Save yourself a headache and get a speedcal. This speedo gear you are talking about is plastic and will get torn up within a few years and will be a royal pain to get out. Do it right the first time.

96-98 mustangs have mechanical drives which use the speedo gears to correct gear and tire size changes, the 99+ have electronic speedometers so they use the speedcal..

yea... just like the 94 and 95's thank u... lol j/p.. but about the chewing of the gear thingy yea it might... mostly only happens to stangs equipped with 4.10's.. as long as u got the 3.73's your safe... the white 23 tooth speedo gear will accuratly correct speedo readings on gears up to 3.73's... anything bigger ex. 4.10's u will have to go inside the trans and change out the drive gear... now on 99's and newer speedcal only way to go.. no matter the gear size..

dallasmustang.com
brothersperformance.com both carry spedcals

you can also get a programmer but thats alot of money but would be good if you had alot of oter mods. same with a chip. just get a speedcal for like 60-80 bucks and you'll be allset.
