Default cheap CAI idea!

here's my cheap intake idea.... there's a e-bay company that sells adapters for cone filters that bolt to the MAF. they range from $1 to $3 plus shipping ($6). basically its the same piece K&N sells with their FIPK kits, but $100 less! a picture of it is below. in theory, wouldn't it be much cheaper and just as effective to buy this adapter and bolt on a high-flowing cone filter for a third of the price of a CAI, without the worry of heat soak as an added bonus?

here's the same piece in this K&N FIPK kit that retails near $200!

plus my buddy has a brand-new K&N cone with a 3" opening, so i'd have a $10 CAI..!

any thoughts on this incredibly cheap and effective CAI?
