I say the whole catback. It allows your car to breath a little easier and a few extra horses.

For the price you buy mufflers and have a shop weld it. You might as well buy a cat back an install it yourself. The SLP you can install without welding not sure about other catbacks. If you are having issues with video try save as instead of opening it.

The Magnaflow is a bolt on too as is Mac.No welding needed and fairly simple to install.

our cars dont get emmission testing. their too new. they just make sure you got no check engine light on. they check your emissions with your cars computer. so if you dont have a light on they dont care what comes out of your pipes.
the prob. is if you get the cats off you need to have your comp reprogramed so that the check engine light is off. thats costly.
this is the way in NJ anyway.

Question

so would it be better to go with the whol cat back or keep my x-pipe cause i am not really sure what the x dose and what the cat back dose i thought the x equlized the exhaust or sumthing and also what about turn downs i thought about getting them instead of getting them out the back

youll still need your x-pipe if you get the cat-backs. the x pipe replaces the cats. and then the catback exaust will hook to your x pipe. the x pipe is whats gonna make your check engine light come on(due to not havng the O2 sensors anymore). if you got one and your lights not one. then your good. you can throw anything after the x pipe.

like i said earlier. if you delete your cats you need your comp reprogramed. cats are on your mid pipe. a cat back exaust will replace everything after the midpipe. not the cats.
YOU ONLY FAIL EMISSIONS IF YOU GOT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. they wont even check it with out a CEL on. our cars are so new that the comp knows when you are illegal with your emmissions so thats all the inspection people care about.

oh and im getting an off road x pipe soon. my emmisions wont pass. ill have CEL on. but i dont have the $$$ to have my comp. reprogramed so im gonna get it inspected before i switch, then in 2 years ill throw my cats back in. get a new inspection then throw my X pipe back in.

In the state of North Carolina and in many other states that I know of vehicles do get OBDII scans in addition to emissions monitoring. Any OBDII Vehicle (96+) is required to get emissions inspection via monitoring through measuring the Hydrocarbons and NOx gasses emitted following the combustion process.

If the actual mandate in NJ is to simply plug up to the OBDII port then that's incredibly surprising the EPA doesn't jump down on that.

In the state of NC if you get pulled over and cannot produce the physical Paper print out of emissions of the various Gasses and hydrocarbons, and it match what's on file in the state capital you get fined. They couldn't give 2 ****s about a sticker.

Vehicles may "pass" inspections illegally without catalytic converters. But it is fact that a gasoline internal combustion engine without catalytic converters will never ever fail to produce higher then acceptable emissions. All you get is the sticker to fool the Po Po.

On a side note Automotive engineers in the late 80's and early 90's thought it would be 30 or 40 years before having Zero-emissions vehicles. We have manifested this technology today. Yippy.

Ok now lets get back to your question as your confusing everyone. According to your post you have a Bassani Xpipe which I assume has cats on it, if this is the case then any catback you put on right now will not effect emissions. You have to understand that the xpipe is what has the cats attached to them as well as the 02 sensors and a catback exhaust is from the cat but not including the cat,to the tailpipe. Look at the two photos.
