Default Swooshing sound coming from new TB and plenum?

Hey Whats up guys I just installed a bbk upper intake plenum and 75mm accufab tb and when I hit the gas I hear a swooshing air sound coming from the new plenum and tb when i rev it up, is it supposed to do that? and no its not the noise from the filter. I checked all the bolts and hoses and everything seems tight. The car runs fine and theres no check engine light. What do you guys think?

You will hear a noticeable louder sucking/whistling noise when those are installed. More air coming in I suppose. Same thing happened after my install.

ohh ok great thank you I was just concerned that there was a leak because the sounds was coming from the plenum and not the air filter. Thanks

If its coming FROM your TB/plenum then you have a leak. Spray it down with some soap and look for bubbling. It should "swoosh" from your intake not your throttlebody and plenum.

+1 (Didn't know it wasn't coming from air filter)

its normal. that stuff about leaking is very doubtful since this is your install im sure you double checked everything before start up. even though i dont have a aftermarket plenum i hear the swooshing noise and a high pitched whistle when i only give it partial throttle.

You here a high pitch whistle coming from your TB and Plenum? That doesn't seem normal. When I installed mine there was a loud whistle coming from the filter and it was because I didn't have the IAC gasket on perfectly. Once I took it off and adjusted it the whistle went away.

As for the swooshing sound, I've heard that's normal with a 70mm/75mm throttle body. I get a sucking sound at partial throttle, but if I hold it at the rpms where the sucking happens it goes away.

maybe i should of explained better. the whistle only happens at certain rpms in a low gear when im speeding up from lets say 25 35 mph. after that its just the sucking sound. i have had this throttle body and cai for over 2 1/2 years.

I sure dont have it from mine, but I have the accufab 70mm combo...
Like I said, its probably a leak, and wouldnt hurt to check.

does the swooshing sound kinda sound like a BOV?....just not instant...like a prolonged whistle?...if it is..its the intake....ull notice it more in a CAI....n it will get louder the closer the filter gets to the back of the engine bay...(towards the seats)

I have a whistle with my tb/plenum sometimes, but I made sure everything was tight? I also noticed a new sound (somewhat swooshing) when I installed mine, but figured it was just from the more air I was taking in.

Once after pulling my IAC to clean and after hooking it backup again, it made a loud whistle at idle and at lower rpms. The problem was due to the IAC gasket not beng on correctly. If I moved the rubber hose around, I could actually play music with the dam thing. The tones would change.

Make sense, because, there is only air comming through that line when the IAC is open. So if any of you have noises like this associated with lower rpms, I would suspect that same gasket.

Which gasket should I check? the one on the side or front I'm not too familiar with the names. I checked everything and sprayed there are no leaks that I could find. it only makes the noise when I rev it from idle for like a second then it goes away at higher rpms

Does the car run ok ? If it was a leak, wouldnt he most likely get a check engine light ? It would be sucking unmetered air. Just a thought.

okay here's the real deal most likely you just put on a larger tb.... this causes the sound because the plenum hasn't been portmatched... the cai will give a light sound but nothin as loud as the non port matched tb. mine sounds like a blow off vavle when the pedal is 2/5 to 3/5 the way in..
