Default Sound coming from my rearend.

Just noticed this recently and after I had installed my tune. I only hear it when I give the gas pedal a slight tap to give it some more speed and only at lower speed like 10-25 mph. Its tough to describe how it sounds but not quite like metal on metal but idk its just odd, It lasts but only a few seconds. Just had my rear dif fluid changed... So im assuming they would have told me if something was wrong. Ill go ahead and pull my tune tonight and return it to stock and see if it keeps on doing it....

Any ideas on what it could be?

could also be the exhuast but I highly doubt it, It really sounds like its coming from the rear end.

I am now 100% positive it only occurs when the tune is installed. It only happens when I gently tap on the gas at lower speeds and sounds like its coming from the rear driver side almost like the exhaust but only on the driver side. wouldnt say its an exhuast leak but it sounds like a slight ticking noise.

Auto or stick? If auto then could it be the tune changing the shift points and something in the transmission making the noise? I would still inspect the exhaust pipes they may have a hole. If that all checked out I would call the people than you got the tune from and see if they have heard of this before.

Its an auto, but it sounds like its coming from the rear driver side in front of the rear wheel. So dont see why it would be the transmission. More like a "cuh" sound and stops once i let my foot off the gas and only when Its a tap.

Damn, that sucks. I would think it should be making the sound without the tune as well. You may start by pulling off that wheel and look for something wrong, but I think I would still call the tuner just cause they deal with this **** more than I do.

this is just a wild guess...i would think that since your tune makes more power, your exhaust gas temp. is probably hotter. maybe a slight increase in EGT is causing your pipe to expand differently causing a small leak only with the tune

yeah at this point I have no clue. Having a friend listen to it tonight so see if we can figure it out or maybe im just being overly picky? who knows.

It is defiantly coming from the exhaust area but If it would be a leak then I would be able to hear it without the tune? Hope i figure this out soon.

It's probably the exhaust tailpipe hanger hitting a piece of steel under there from vibrations. I had to re-tighten/adjust a tailpipe and replaced a few of the rubber hangers by the muffler since they were close to breaking from cracks to fix it.
