Question Issues with Mustang, help needed

I have a '99 GT. The car has a BBK cold air intake, T56 Viper spec, 3.73 gears, CPR fuel rails (factory rails were misplaced) and an SCT livewire with a mail order tune and some other non engine running related things on it.

The engine was removed for an upper end rebuild then reinstalled just needing accessories installed (exhaust, few wires and vacuum lines) when I purchased the car state. (Got the car cheap from a friend)

Since getting the car it has been finished being assembled.

Now the issue. When you try and start the car it runs for about 2 seconds then stalls. Checked for fuel pressure, getting none at the rails. After checking, wires inside sending unit are broke, replace with new sending unit and still does the same thing. Now when you touch the gas its the same, but after two or so trys after hitting the gas it will run for a second or so longer, not the very next but one or two after, not the every time. The car does sound rough, a slight poping out the exhaust. This is all the car does.

Any ideas? I am US Military stationed in England. The cars are not common over here and there are no mechanics in the area that I would trust to touch the car.

My current ideas of things to check are: there was a really dirty fuel filter so i going to flush the lines and clean the injectors, try unplugging the MAF sensor, check the TPS and see if it is putting out a reasonable voltage (supposed to be around .99V I believe), as well as putting in the factory tune to get the car up and running. Any input of any other additional things to check are appreciated.

I will be posting an introduction thread with the total specs of the car once I get it running.

Tried the things stated above, checked TPS looks good but dont have a new one yet to replace with, unplugged MAF, and checked fuel rails for pressure (see next paragraph).

I pulled the fuel feed line off at the rails. When you turn the car on only like 1/4 cup of gas is coming out and is stopping when the pump shuts off (can hear it running). Is this normal (safety issue) or is the car not pumping enough fuel (clogged gas line or improper voltage at pump).

Any help with this is appreciated.

I have traced the issue down to low voltage to the fuel pump. If i power the pump directly it will pump, but doesnt when using the cars power. I am thinking the Fuel pump driver module. Anyone know a way to check if it is working? Finding another to test it is a little difficult.

Running out of ideas and am getting close to just parting the car out.

What about the reset in the trunk? I know they kill power to the pump so that mayb worth checkn.

Checked and is allowing voltage through.

Did a check today.

FPDM is getting power (12V and around 6v) Was working on the car on my own so not sure if its giving enough power but I think I can now hear the pump running.

Anyone remember if the security light on the dash stays on when your starting the car? I remember reading somewhere that the car will trip a security sensor and wont start if the PCM is removed.

So as of now im thinking the fuel pump is working, I have a spare coil on plug pack thingy (technical term ) that I will be testing for spark the next time I work on it. It seems to be getting fuel and hopefully spark, the car should be making at least some semblance of running if only for a few seconds. Right now it is only cranking.

On a side note the car will crank once, then click but will crank the next try or so. Im thinking electrical issue now. I have a code reader that im going to have thrown on it to see what its doing.

Anyone know if you have to bleed the fuel lines and rails?

they'll bleed themselves VERY rapidly upon initial startup.

Unless you're driving an old diesel there's absolutely no reason to even attempt to bleed them.

It only spits out a 1/4 cup because its all its supposed to do. It just runs the pump for a second or so to prime the fuel system with pressure before its started. If its clicking and not starting you have a voltage issue. Did you check the battery? If the theft light is flashing with the key in the ignition that is a big problem.

Thanks. Now I need to find someone who can check and maybe remove the security light issue. Dealerships over here are showing nothing for the car.

You can turn off the PATS with a tune.

I have redone the tune with the SCT livewire and im still getting the security light while trying to start the car

Finally found a place that is knowledgeable enough about mustangs that I may be sending mine there in a few days.

OBD code reader going on thurs and we will see what that is saying.
