smoking and missing need some help
i have a 96 gt. when its cold out side it smokes for about 5 minites. my other problem is its missing just a bit at idle and when its under a load it misses bad like only 4 pistons are firing. i thought maybe it could be a coil pack a friend in a auto tech class looked at it and his teacher said plug wires i just dnt know

dunno if cars are similar to atv's but if so, it sounds like your valve seals are bad if its oil smoke when u start it. ATV's do that with age, as for the missing part i dunno, because the v8's have an entirely different system than 6's.

How many miles on the car?
When was the last time it was tuned up? (complete tune up)
How long has this been going on?
Does it miss really bad at highway speeds or just when its under a load?
Did the misfiring start after you got a new tank of gas?

First question is what color is the smoke?
White means water/coolant is being burned. Black is to much fuel. Blue is oil being burned. So depending on what one it is we can go from there with trying to help you figure this out.

its got 155,000 miles on it. the guy i bought it off of put new wires and plugs on it before i bought it. the manifold is cracked at the water neck like all the plastic ones do. it leakes water into the number 5 spark plug hole but it didnt start missing till it got kinda cold outside. a couple days ago i changed the water to antefreez for the winter and it hasnt missed since. iwhen it did miss it would miss under aload and a freind took it into a auto shop and they told him it was the wires. as for the smoking it only does it when its really cold outsied and only for about 5 minites. its blue smoke and i can smell the oil burning i just dont know what it is.
any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Either your valve seals or your piston rings are shot. Do a compression check to see if it's the rings. If not, it's the valve seals.
Also, please don't tell me you were running straight water on the street. You should never do that.
