Default swapping motors

might be replacing the motor in my 99 gt 5 speed, is it possible to pull the motor and trans together and swap the trans to the new motor then put back in- i know that is possible on some GM cars but diddnt know if it was different on a mustang. I have a feeling the answer is that i have to drop the trans and then pull the motor..just looking for a short cut lol.

If you do swap, are you going to sell your current motor?

You can.. but its tight. I ended up having to loosen the K-member to get enough clearance for it to drop in, but that was a 5.4/T45 with a canton pan.

You can pull the motor with the tranny and install it with the tranny on.
