P1443 Evaporative Emission Control System - Vacuum System - Purge Control Solenoid or Purge Control Valve fault.


so, does this mean my PCV valve is causing the code to be thrown? nothing has been changed in the way it runs or anything, it just came up one day while driving it.

 

That's the EVAP system. You'd know you have a PCV problem when you notice excessive oil consumption and/or your dip-stick popping up.

 

the initials are the same but the purge control valve is different than a positive crankcase ventilation valve.

 

Valid point. I probably should have read it more in depth.

 

You can get this code from not tightening/clicking your gas cap enough....or a defective one that doesn't seal.
