Default Vibration coming from the rear end of my 04 gt

Hey guys, every time I turn or take off too fast from a stop I get some vibration in the steering wheel. It sounds like a high pitch drumming noise (cant really think of a good way to describe the noise). It feels almost as if something is rubbing against something else when I turn or take off too fast. This happened right after I got my rotors machined on the two back wheels. Me and a guy took a look at it and the tires were a little loose, but we couldn't find anything wrong. He thinks it may be the limited slip, or posi... any ideas?

*Edit* I just had 4.10 gears put in about a year ago... So I figured it was a little soon for those to be giving me problems. I broke them in nice and slow too, didn't go over 3k rpm the first 600 miles or so

high pitched drumming noise? Where is it coming from do you think? If it's the center/back it could be some gear whine...I'm really interested in this whine you're talking about. Is it similar to a power-steering whine??

It is definately coming from the rear end, Its not just a whine is the thing though I can feel it in the steering wheel when I turn. just imagine the noise kind of as if the wheels when i turn are hitting the frame of the car... kind of like that. The car still performs and it doesn't seem to be affecting that, I just cannot figure out what the hell it is. I know this is really confusing lol I cant really explain it over the computer but im doin my best

Well you might check your power-steering fluid anyway just to be sure about the steering deal. When you guys got the gears, did you get the bearing kit?

No they said I would be ok without the bearing kit... I had about 29k miles on it when i got them installed and now I have about 38k miles. Could I possibly need to change out the bearings?

Yup. Anytime you're in there messing around, put in new bearings. I can't say for sure that's the issue in this case, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Ok, ill take a look at that. Will I need to have the gears put back in again? Cause that is a costly operation.

Maybe. I don't really know what the proper way to go about that is. Might try asking Spike Africa, or 03gtmustang since he's the mod of general tech...

No problem, keep us updated. And again, check your power-steering fluid level...it might explain the whine in your steering.
