ground effects
ok ive got a 2001 gt and currently i have the stalker g effecs kit installed....but recently i hit a small animal on the way across the state and it mangled my front bumper....the question i have is if there is a real big difference between polyurithane and fiber glass and also id appriciate it if you all could post either pictures or links to some nice ground effect kits.....im kinda leaning towards the demon kit...but im far from making my decision.....thanX TRNIN

Urethane will flex when hit, that is why car manufacturers use it. If they used fiberglass there would be 200x more body shops fixing bumpers and our insurance rates would be higher. Fiberglass will crack when hit and will not be worth trying to repair as it will be cheaper to buy another. Only get fiberglass if its a trailor queen or you have a forcefield around your stang. As in everything in life if you want the good stuff its going to cost a bit more.

Even though I am not a fan of body kits, ill help you out.
Fiberglass is a very weak material as far as flexibility and durability goes. There is very minimal flex before it snaps or shreds. Polyurathane is a more rigid, flexible, durable material. It gives you more lee-way on hitting something softly and more on flexing before it snaps. Dont buy fiberglass because it will be ruined very fast. Polyurathane or NOTHING.

yeah thats what i figured but thanks for the info....ill have to post a picture of my car to prove just cuz you have ground effects doesnt mean you are a ricer.......altezzas......fart cannons....neons....racing company sticker...rims that cost more than the car.....that is a ricer.......but yeah my girlfreind lives on the other side of the state and im on the higway for atleast 5 hours a week to go see her so i figure that polyurithane would be the only way to go..........but then again i hit a rather large jack rabbit going about 75 mph or so......would that destroy a urithane bumper too :sad1: ?......btw is a cobra r bumper ok, if i get that am i not a stupid ricer....idiots

ok i think im gonna get the kaminari side skirts, the saleen front bumper, and the invader or the kaminari rear bumber........i think im gonna get the front bumper in urithane........but just how durable is it.....can i hit a jackrabbit going 75 and not have it be destroyed....thax trnin

so i may as well get fiberglass????....im mean...als im worried about is smacking somthing on the highway...and it sounds like either urithane or fiberglass would get jacked up.....am i right.....cuz man this poly urithane crap aint cheap!!!!!!

like matt said at 75 mph it wont make a diffrence, but it will in the lower speeds like say 25 mph you hit something, or you have a small fender bendr, with the fiberglass it wouldnt be a fender bender it would be a fender breaker :/

Reason for compliments
The reason you get compliments on the stalker kit is that it is one of the best looking kits on the market. The styling is restrained and similar to classic mustang design formulas. Cervini is the original maker of these kits (though some low quality imitations are out there), and their parts are well made and fit like oe. All their bumpers are urethane, for the simple reason that you will tap (or hit) things from time to time, and urethane will absorb many impacts and bounce right back into shape, whereas fiberglass just shatters.
The drawback to urethane is cost of parts and painting (requires special primers, for instance). I believe the front bumper is about $275 by itself from Cervini.
If your car has the stalker hood and it is intact, contact Cervini for your replacement stalker bumper. I recommend you also get their driving light kit, if you don't already have that, since the kit looks lost without it.
