Question I dont want 2 over do it..

ok, im not a drag racer, i might do it a few x's though. I want about 400hp & around 360 to 370rwt. i have an 08- 4.6ltr with cold air (shaker) intake Automatic Mustang .Here is what i have added in the last 4mnths----> K&N Filter--bbk L.T. Headers-- high flow cats. Before dyno 285hp 260rwt after adding those three things it dyno'ed out to 305hp 348rwt ( not 2 bad of a gain huh ). what can i add to get to my goal figures. i have been reading all of yalls threads in all different dept's, from what i have read & learned i have to be carefull cuz i can shorten the life of my engine and possibly tear up my rear end and tranny if i go to high on hp & rwt on my stock engine. what numbers do not want to go over, or,, how high of numbers can i go and keep my "only ride" from blowing or tearing up. Maybe the diablo predator chip ? what do yall suggest. Thanks for your feedback People

A supercharger will put you there no problem I'm not sure what else will do it besides nitrous oxide but that will only give it to you in short bursts

Port the heads and get some cams. If you still want more, than throw a blower on or nitrous. However, I wouldn't worry about the rear since it's pretty stout and the trans isn't too bad either though the trans is the weaker of the two.

do a computer chip, it wont wear on you engine, and all that stuff you have in you car already, the chip will make sure it is being used to its maxperformnace

From what I've seen you do not want to push the 3v's past 450rwhp. With your current mods, a base 8psi supercharger with a dyno tune will put you at around 450rwhp. Your other option is doing like a 75 shot of nitrous with a tune which would put you righ around 400rwhp and over 400rwtq. If I were you, I would just get a converter, 4.10 gear, dyno tune, rear control arms, and a better rear tire like a drag radial. The car will feel like it has an extra 100hp, but the numbers won't show. These mods will put you in the low 12's in the quarter mile.

Go with a charger. Don't waste any money on little things. Get a vortech, and a conservative tune and you will be right in that range. It shouldn't over do it. The rear end will be fine with those numbers.

Nitrous will be too difficult to keep steady, too much timing involved and all the other factors.

The chip is not going to do much on hp/tq but it will help acceleration especially since you have an automatic. But you will have to get a tuner if you do a supercharger anyway.

Go with the supercharger, you will be happy you did.

Supercharger is the way to go if you're ok in dropping $5-6k at one time for the charger, gauges, install, and tune. If you can do the install of the charger, fuel components, and gauges yourself you'll save a good $800 on install.
