Default 1996 Mustang GT Advice

I have a 1997 Mustang V6.

I recently saw a 1996 Mustang GT Convertable, with only 36,000 miles selling around bluebook price.

Asides from rust what other factors should I be aware of when buying an older car with low miles. And do the 1996 Mustang GT's have any known flaws like the 1993-1998 V6's blowing headgaskets?

Thanks all for the info.

Yeah they suffered from a pretty severe design flaw.

not enough power.

Needs PI heads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go for 99+

whats yer price range? you can always hit up craigslist, right now there are a lot of people dropping thier V8's for dirt cheap cause they are scared of the gas pump.

If the owner never got it done, there was a TSB (maybe even a recall) to replace the cooling system (mainly the radiator) w/ the 97-04 stuff. That's all that I'm aware of for the 96.
