Something like Mac's, Borla, Bassani would be a good choice to help with the raspyness of the x-pipe.

You can "turn off" the cats? They're part of the piping...

he said turn off the CEL for the cats. if you have no cats, you check engine light goes off because the rear o2 sensors are reading the same as the front (they need to be different cause if theyre the same, its telling the computer that a cat has failed).

by turning off the rear o2 sensors, the CEL goes off.

I hate the I's... been very happy with my II's. The only other thing I would of gone for is some stingers if I had the cash at the time.

the SLP sound is something you either love or hate. i peronally have changed my exhaust set up more that i have changed my hairstyle in my lifetime. the SLP with an O/R midpipe , which i have now....is seriously the loudest setup possible. easy way to sum this up
LOUD: O/R midpipe +
SLP
Flowmaster 40, super 44, or 1 chambers
spintech pro street
magnapacks
Pypes Violater (very nice paired with pypes o/r x)
dynomax race bullets

Less noise, nice sound quality Catted mid pipe +
flowmaster 40, super 40, super 44
bassani
magnaflow
borla stingers
steeda
mac flowpath

of course adding longtubes with amplifly any of these, but its all up to your own personal taste. imo the best part about having a V8 mustang is having your own distinctive sound. by the way, this is my 1st post.

Wow talk about thread stealing an older thread.

You still have a Y-pipe and those are made to bolt up to the mid pipe on V8 cars or on V6 cars that have had a full h-pipe replacement (or X if you are retarded) or an adapter kit installed to make the Y into an H.

Ive got a pretty custom exhaust. 3 inch all the way around, borla mufflers with magnaflow piping/ tips. Im not going for an o/r x pipe since its a 3k dollar fine here if you removed your cats. I may go with an x pipe later down the road, possibly bassani, but well see how it goes. As for SLP's, they sound like crap. Just take your exhaust off and there you go... Loud, annoying and awesomely crappy but thats just me. I like the deep rumble with the nice growl at higher RPM's.
