GT" plus "Ford Racing" equals "Shelby GT"
Shelby Automobiles, based in Las Vegas, begins with a stock Mustang GT and adds a Ford Racing Power Pack and Handling Pack to each car. The Power Pack consists of a 90-millimeter cold-air intake, reworked engine calibration, upgraded exhaust flow (via a new X-pipe) and a shorter rear axle ratio (3.55 versus the GT's 3.31). And while the rental GT-H comes in automatic form only, the Shelby GT can be had with a slushbox or a five-speed manual transmission featuring a Hurst short-throw shifter.
The Handling Pack consists of shorter springs, stiffer dampers and an upgraded front antiroll bar. The shorter springs drop the car 1.5 inches, which is unfortunate in the sense that it makes seeing these upgraded parts — all of them painted a shimmering shade of Ford Blue — even harder to see unless you have access to a vehicle lift. A front strut-tower brace and P235/55ZR18 tires complete the Shelby GT's handling upgrades

There is a guy in my SCCA region that drives a Shelby GT in F stock for soloII. At the first event this month he had the fastest time of the day. This guy beat every single car in a Mustang with nothing other than R compounds. There's gutted, 315 race tire, Porches and STI's that this guy beat out. It was amazing to see this guy drive. He was ten seconds faster than me. Ofcourse he is the driver mod extreme example though.

all gts are fast as **** when there stripped out and there easy to drive although beating a porsche is pretty damn good prolly a porsche boxter theres no way in hell a gt can hag with a all wheel drve twin turbo 911

The GT wasn't stipped out, it runs in the Stock class. Only thing different on it is that is has Khumo v710s. If the drivers were equal, it is true that a Shelby GT wouldn't put up the same time as something like a 911. But this GT beat every single car that was at the autocross that day. Including gutted probably 2000lb. race-only porsches. Two that day I don't know what kind they were becuase they are covered w/ graphics and stuff but there not new. I will have to look on Sunday to see what class they run in. He beat one of the Porches by only a second. But never say a Mustang cannot do well at something like autocross, I've seen it.
