Default injectors

hi guy's i'm new here and have a few questions.
first i have a 96 5spd car, i have only had it a couple months. it's just a weekend toy.
if i were to jump up a size in injectors would that do anything at all to a stock car? or would i need a chip along with the injectors.
also can i expect to feel a diffrence if i put an off road x pipe in pplace of the stock pipe and converters.. no testing out here in the sticks.
and what is the best shifter i can put in with the lowest price.
thanks guys.

1 - Shifter: Buy the one sold here at MT! It is EXACTLY like the Steeda Tri-Ax. It is made by them too. I have the Tri-Ax and it is a very good shifter. You can do no better than the price right here.

2 - The X Pipe will net you 10 - 15 rwhp.

3 - Changing injectors requires a different MAF and a tune. You need to "tell" the computer that you have changed injector size. Otherwise, you will run very rich. Stock injectors can support over 350 rwhp.

thanks for the help. so when the time comes to replace the old injectors i should just stick with the stock units.
i was doing a bit of reading around here and saw that someone siad you lose alot of low end when you use an off road pipe. i'm just a stop lite to stop lite guy, no track stuff in my old age. would i be better off going the cat back route?

OK, here is the God's honest truth on mid pipes:

The conventional wisdom is that X pipes tend to get you a little more on the top end and you loose a little down low. H pipes give you a little more on the low side w/o the added hp at higher rpms. Guys that hit the drag strip will choose an X pipe. However, the dozen + dynos I have seen only show a few hp difference between the two. So, in the end, I would go with the sound you like the best.

H pipes sound deeper than X pipes. X pipes sound a little more exotic to me and are higher pitched.

Also, when choosing a mid pipe, you MUST consider the choice of catback. Some pairs are much better suited than others together. I think it is best to stick with the same brand name. Avoid using a catback w/o mufflers and then choosing a mid pipe w/o cats. You will make a LOT of noise and loose hp.

A good Catback and mid pipe will net you 25 - 30 rwhp. Other selections may only get you 15, but might sound better to your ears.

Regarding injectors, there is no need to replace them while staying with the same size. Mustang Tuning is going to start carrying injectors from Python Injectors. I am not familiar with them, but I want to see what they have to offer, because I may change my opinion.

Your car might end up running bad if you change your injectors! You don't need more fuel because your car is stock! Unless you have a power adder or H/C/I you don't need them! You also don't need a maf! the stock injectors will work well and will support up to 320 RWHP and then some but you will be pushing them hard with anything more than that! ..

Spike, I have heard that, but I am easily putting down 350 rwhp on my stock injectors when running a 100 shot and the fuel is keeping up w/o a problem. My nitrous system pulses my existing injectors to add more fuel, but still, they can only flow soo much.
