I had the chance to work on 2 05 GT's today one bone stock and the other the customer told me he tuned the processor with a Diablo Predator. Holy shot, what a difference!!! Anybody with an 05 'stang should get a flash tuner!! The throttle lag was gone along with all the other electronic nannies that ruin the fun. I have a Predator for My 04 and I was impressed, but with the 05 I was amazed!!

I'm definitely interested in getting a flash tuner. What kind of HP gains can you expect to get on a bone stock '05 though? I would guess 8-15 tops. If you combine the tune with CAI and exhaust I'm betting it would be worth more. But, leaning the f/a and messing with the emissions will void the warranty if you're not careful...Doesn't the computer store a code or something that lets Ford know you've installed or modified their stock setup?

That's my only concern at this point, since it's the first year with the new setup no-one knows yet what lies ahead...there could be issues and it would suck to not have a warranty!

Predator is good to tune with stock 05's. Modified '05s you need to go with something like the SCT XCal2. Youll get more HP and Torque gains from the Xcal2 on modded cars than you would with the Predator.

The SCT X-Cal II looks like a really good product. What does it do that makes it superior to the Predator??

Two words....

Data Logging.

That and all it needs is a USB connection to hook up to your PC. No more need for a giant bulky printer cable.

Dude, I have a Predator from Diablo Sports that I order with My C&L cai, it will also do data logging at a faster sample rate and with a longer log time than the above unit your taking about, I also have it working with a usb to serial connection on my computer and for a bigger plus, the lcd on the Predator is 2 times bigger, in my opinion the Predator tuner is a much better Unit all the way.

While I am partial to SCT over Diablo, this seems like a nice package. If I had an '05, I would give it some thought.

I have xcal2 on my 05 and k&n air charger. Great difference in throttle response , no more rev limiter, quite noticiblay more power.
