Default Question

Ok I have 2001 GT. I noticed that I have a slight tappin noise coming from the engine. I hear when the car is at idle, but can't here it during acceleration. I was wonder if I should run a heavier oil in my car right now I use 5w 20. I live in texas so cold weather is not and issue. Also if it was pulley going bad would it be making a tappin noise?

I would try a 10w-30 syn. like Royal Purple or Mobil 1 and a FL820s oil filter. If you want to elimiate the pullies just pop the belt off and start the motor. Good Luck

Yeah Im going to get it checked this week for an exhaust leak. But the guy at the muffler shop said it sounded it like it was coming from the bellhousing. So I'm going to take it to a place that does transimission work to be looked at.

Do you have a 5 speed ? It may be the throwout bearing.
