1st let me ask this...did you buy this car or lease it. If you bought it...mod away....gears will make the biggest single difference over any other mod for the price. Its like adding 40 hp to the car. Now, its you leased this car....save your cash, you want have this car in 2 years and all that money will be wasted.

With the 05+, you do intake and tune first. Its not like the 99-04s where you might get 5-10 hp from it. You get 20+ from it. Then Gears

Sound, the exhaust on the 05+ is already pretty good. Its all mandrel bent. You may get 5 or so from mufflers. Its already 2 1/2" all the way back.

Now, you ask about tuning. The 05+ will run like shiat, maybe even not run if you get a CAI without an engine tune. When you buy the CAI, get a SCT Xcal2 tune package and you will get the tunes you need to make your car run a whole lot better. The SCT is a handheld tuner. It changes parameters in your engine computer to make the car increase HP and TQ and run better.

Do the gears and Flowmasters, it will feel and sound like you got a 100 horses. You didnt but you will think you did. 373's or 410's

The mods on the '05+ cars are pretty straight forward and proven.

Throw on a set of 4.10's and buy a handheld tuner with a CIA. You are probably looking at about $1200 installed and the car will be a nice beast. It will be like adding 60, proven hp (but only really 20). The tuner will be able to adjust the speedo for the 4.10s.

Then add some decent rims and a cat back exhaust if you want.

start off with a jlt induction and SCT Xcal 3 with a mail order tune. My buddy with his 07 GT dropped .45 seconds in the quarter just from that. This will run you around $600. If you don't do too much highway driving go with 4.10 gears. The gears + 4.10's will be around $500. If you want sound, get a catback, but it won't really add any hp. You'll just have the sound. There is more to be done if you're interested and have the money. These mods are on the less expensive side.

If I had a 05-08 GT auto, I would do the following mods: induction, longtube headers, x/h pipe, catback, Xcal 3, 3.73 gear, 3600 rpm stall converter w/ tranny cooler, a dyno tune, and drag radials. This would surely be a low 12 second car.

this is what you want:
http://www.americanmuscle.com/xcal2-...r-oil-kit.html

http://www.americanmuscle.com/jlt-2005-2006-gt-cai.html

with the gear install everything will run you under $1000, and the car will feel like it has an extra 60hp.

The funny part is I'm the only 05+ in this thread, yet every one is ignoring what I'm saying. Oh, and let me say. Exhaust on the 05+ is hard to get a nice partnership between the mid pipes and mufflers. The wrong combination makes you sound like a ricer. My exhaust suggestion is leave the stock mufflers and get an O/R prochamber. Do not get an x pipe for these. My opinion is they sound like shiat.

JLT or C&L CAI and a held held tuner (I prefer the xcal 2, heard some problems with the 3), then gears for the seat of the pants feel, then exhaust. And if you really want to add the HP for NA. Get heads/cams and longtubes.

the man is right.

Follow up the CAI and Xcal2 tune with a set of 4.10 gears and lower the car. It's going to really impress you.

I would still get the intake/tune first. Really every company I see is just reworkign stock heads. So I think where ever you go is going to be the same. Blow by racing does there own heads/cams and so does modular mustang racing. I think on the longtubes, just whatever your preference is. I'm not going long tubes unless I get heads/cams. Just allows for more air out.
