What he said.....20 - 22 is pretty normal with extended highway driving. Lower for around town.
If you are indeed seeing well lower then this, then I would expect other problems as well indicative of running rich.

As alreay stated, what kinda gas mileage are you seeing? People that have never owned a mustang who were previous (for the sake of the setting an example) Honda accord owners were used seeing 30+mpg and then bought a mustang are are seeing 17-20 mpg consider that horrible. I get about 250 miles to a ful tank and considering what my car has, I consider that very generous.

Do you use good gas or just anything from a mom and pop store. Amoco/BP!!! The couple cents you save per gallon aint worth the crappy milage and poor performance. Depending on how many miles you have on the car, I would suggest plugs and fuel filter change and a couple tanks of good gas and see if there is any improvment in mpg before you do anything major. 17 to 20 city is tops.

That does seem on the low side. But, whne you say "tank" what do you mean? How many gallons are you putting in on average?

It could be a number of things like dirty MAF, fouled plugs, or bad O2 sensors.

Depends on where he lives. I live in Chicago. Zigzagg321 gets the same gas mileage as I do. If you live in the suburbs or in a place where the speed limit is 45 miles per hour or more and there are not stop signs or lights for miles, then you will get good gas mileage. I have stop signs every block on the side streets and stop lights every 2-3 blocks on main streets. The speed limit is 30 miles per hour. When my car was stock I got 180-185 mi when the fuel light turned on. Now with full bolt ons I get 162-165 mi.
