Default what do i do???

i have a 96 gt with 57k miles . i drove my car today and when i left from a parking space i saw a puddle of oil so i went back to look at it and its seemed to be oil and coolant mixed , i got home and checked the coolant and it seemed to look like it had oil in it , checked the oil and none showed on the dip stick and i just changed the oil about 500 miles ago . it didnt seem to over heat but im not positive cuz my temp gauge dont work , but i didnt blow hose or anything like that . looked under car and the fluid was dripping off back of the motor where it meets the bellhouseing .....what do u guys suggest i do . thanks joe

buy yourself a 4.6 PI engine, drop it in and forget the one you have. it's done. You have a blown HG in all probability. Looks to be blown from oil to coolant and you may have blown a hose or gone combustion to coolant and popped a line somewhere. Bummer. You could just do a HG job on it but really... you can buy a whole new motor and a cherry picker for less. Figure on a weekend to get the motor in and done. It's not hard, don't be intimidated.

craigslist.com, corral.net, the classified forum on this board, ebay, etc...

I can open craigslist around here and have 5 motors in a few minutes search. Call up mustang parts inc (www.mpsautosalvage.com IIRC) and ask them for a complete pullout motor price from intake to oil pan. Slap on your coil packs and go to town. It'll even run the stock tune just fine normally.

can't be but a grand if that. Check craigslist or car-part.com those usually can find something close to you for hella cheap.

Where are you located, the one in my 99 might be perfectly fine and Ill cut you a hell of a deal assuming its in perfect shape. If your not local I can send you a few links to ones when I had planned on replacing mine if it checked out to be blown. The ford head mechanic in my area swears mine is perfect and the noise is coming from somewhere else

Motor prices are usually about $2500 for a new one or rebuild and used ones vary. $500 to $1500. I got a very low mile motor for my car for about $700. Guy wanted it gone.

You want a 99+ motor. It will also net 40 more hp. Keep that in mind. ****, you can pay a lot more then $1000 in mods and still not get 40 more hp.

comp cams xe262's are a nice addition. Really wakes up the car. Requires springs.

1400 is a little tall but if it's complete intake to oil pan, jump on it. You're picking up 20-40rwhp just by installing it. It's a big difference.

you can bolt it to the front and back of the heads. There's a couple blind holes that work well. Any ol' bolt hole will work just make sure you use at least 2 (preferably 4) and that you use the right size bolt.
