Default What to do with money?

So i've come into a lil money and now the question is....what to buy? I'm thinking of getting some VT stage 2 cams and valvesprings from a fella on here and then buying a nitrous system. OR!!!!! I could maybe save for about a year and get a basic superhcarger....but i'm impatient and am leaning towards getting the cams and nitrous system. I'm having a shop do all installations for free...so no install cost! I think cams and nitrous sounds fun! Any comments suggestions or ideas i haven't considered?

if you think you will get a supercharger down the road, go ahead and get the supercharger cams. You'll get the bump in performance and alot more when you get your supercharger.

Decide your goal before you buy anything. If your gonna be a n/a nitrous motor guy then do it. If you know you want a turbo/supercharger in a year dont waste money on a nitrous kit and n/a cams. Also you need a tuner who knows modulars to get a mod motor to run good when cammed so think about that.

get the supercharger. Youll end up spending tons of money on cams and nitrous, only to end up going s/c down the road. Then you have wasted money unless you build the block so you can use the nitrous.....

I've been negotiating a good deal with a fell aon here who's selling a set of brand new vt stage 2 cams and new valvesprings so....i think ima buy them cuz it's a decent deal. Plus i'm impatient and can't afford a s/s. Maybe a few years from now when i graduate i'll get one and sell the nitrous kit but i think ima go with these vt stage 2's and ima get a nitrous kit with all the bells and whistles and run like a 100 shot wet kit(either TNT or NX). If i was patient and smart i'm sure that iwould save for a sc but i'm an impatient punk who has a nasty thirst for go fast goodies. As far as saving for my future...i think i got that covered. I'm going to UT austin right now and i think i'm doin pretty good.

i went the vt stage 2 also. you better get a new torque converter with that too, you'll need a lil more stall. I went with a 3800 stall converter....nevermind. Didnt see the (Spec Stage 2 clutch) until after i mentioned the stall converter. I bought some new valve cover gaskets too. Get some of those from Randy, and get the timing cover gaskets, timing chains, and the plastic guides. I went ahead and replaced most of the parts for the swap.

Just a quick question...anyone have any idea what kinda numbers i'll put down with the cams and my current mods? Also what kind anumbers can i expect from these cams combined with 100 shot of nitrous and my current mods. Why should i get new gaskets etc?

by the time you buy cams, springs, nitrous with all accessories, you could have just put a s/c on it. And it would be tons less install time and work. Filling that n20 bottle gets expensive. Especially when its easy to empty a full bottle in one night and its $30 per fill.....Noone reads my vortech thread....

if you do the cam work and nos kit yourself you'll save alot of money and it will be cheaper than a s/c kit. Im doing my own cam install and torque converter, so i saved a few hundred$.

Well im getting the cams and springs for under $600 and the install on the cams is free from my shop. Nitrous....i dunno but it's not too expensive and install isn't too hard. Honestly i would love to do an sc but dont have the money @ all. What woul dhappen if i do my VT stage 2's and then put an sc on this summer but no nitrous? Would it work? Upsides downsides? I'm pretty set on doin VT stage 2's but i'm not dead set on nitrous over a blower.

you will make more power with the N/A stage 2 cams then you will with stock cams. thats a plus right there.

Well i've decided not to buy anything right now not even cams and just begin saving for an s/c....i might buy a few lil parts, but nothing big. Hopefully by late summertime I will be the owner of a beautiful mongoose kit or procharger s/c

Any minor mods(under $500) that i haven't done yet that i should put on my Bullitt? As i've bitched about many times on here i'm extremely disatisfied with my Bullitt and it's numbers @ the strip...i'm ready to put some major power into my baby in the next year or call it quits and sell it. I've ppured so much money into this car that i could've bought a crate engine or a kenne belle with forged internals by now. Am i glad i've slowly built the car up? Yes...not only is my car car extremely solid in almost every aspect now, but it was a labor of love....it's just that i'm really sick of getting toasted by Craparos and ricers and telling people that i put down under 300hp and under 300trq and havin em laugh @ me....i want a ****** monster @ this point.

I Just bought a brand new Zex wet shot kit from ebay for 450.00 + 250.00 for bottle heater and window switch. Take the money and do that. i was going to buy a s/c but figured i would see the same numbers with nitrous at 1/5 of the cost. yea you dont get the power all the time, but who cares, its there when you need it. plus, a s/c is wearing on the engine all the time, nitrous is only when you want it. Just my
