All mid pipes with stock or shorty headers work on any 96-04 modular powered car ie 2v,4v doesnt matter it will work.

i figure it will bolt up just fine however will the o2 sensor holes be in a little bit different place being that the 96-98's have 3 cats and the 99-04 only have 2?

Worst thing is you might have to extend a the wires on the 02 sensor. There is only 5 of them so if you have to which i dont think you will its no big deal.

96-98 pipes have mounting hangers and 99-04 do not.
