This is getting so annoying! Everytime I start my car after it's sat for an hour or more, it idles fine initially, but as soon as I get in gear it starts to lope a lot and it has no power at all. It only lasts for like the first two minutes every time I start it up but the whole car shakes (especially the shifter), it's annoying as hell, and can't be good for the car. If I come to a stop during the time it's acting up, it idles really rough at like 4-500 RPM.

For anyone with traction control, it feels and acts just like it does when you loose traction really bad (like in rain or snow) where it cuts power to the engine. Except this happens with my traction control off in calm driving situations on dry pavement.

 

Didnt you just change out to a 5speed from an auto?

 

Yeah. I'm pretty sure my IAC is just dirty or shot altogether.

 

You have an 01 so your IAC is seperate from your MAF. pull it and give the thing a thorough cleaning and see if it fixes your problem.

 

my car does the same thing at start up if I don't let it warm up real good. I have to let my car warm up for like 2-3 minutes before I start driving or it lopes and the whole car shakes and it idles at 4-500 rpm. I am going to try and give the IAC a good cleaning.
