Default 0-60 time

I took my 03 Gt to the track for the first time this week. Everyone said my 0-60 time was way off. I was at 2.3 every time i ran. What should it be, and how do i improve it? I have an automatic transmission by the way.

lol, I think you mean your "60 foot time". If you went 0-60 in 2.3 seconds, you'd have a hell of a beast on your hands.

My 98, automatic, on street tires, with stock gears, and never so much as having the valve covers off, does consistent 2.1-2.2's. A 03 should be able to rip-off a 1.9-2.1, depending on your traction and weight. There really isn't much to launcing auto's. When the third yellow light lights up, punch it. Simple as that. I put my left foot on the brake. When I launch mine, I simultaneously let off the brake and hit the accelerator. If you use one foot, your car starts to roll the second you take your foot off of the brake pedal, starting the timer, it prolly takes at least a tenth of a second to get it over to the gas and on the floor. Try that, you should gain a little...the rest is all traction and weight.

lol, no crap. If you were pullin 2.4 0 to 60mph times you would be driving an F18. lol

BUT, just like stated above, just punch it on that yellow and you should be fine. You might need to get some stickier tires if you are spinning really bad.

I never ran my automatic with stock gears, the best I ever got out of the stock tires on 3.73's was 2.00.
I ran the rear tires at 18 - 20 psi.

I went to the track for the first time last weekend and my best 60 ft time was 2.1-- my tires were spinning too much at first. I just played around with what rpms to launch at. Really need to get under 2 seconds to break under 9 seconds for the 1/8 mile.

I've only ran my car at the track a few times during one test and tune night and I didnt do so hot.

With a crappy 2.22 60 foot I did break into the 13s at 13.95 @ 98.81

I dont think thats bad at all for a k&n filter and o/r h pipe. :glasses10

I'm thinking some lower control arms, steeda adjustable rear sway bar, better tires at low psi (like 16-20 in the rear tires), and quick reaction time and you should be on your way.

lower control arms, and bfg or MT drag radials would help significantly. however, the stock converter only allows a launch off a low idle. you will need a looser converter to cut any impressive 60' times. the best 60' i ever got on stock converter was 2.0. and i didnt spin tires once
