And also what will my rpms be in 5th gear @ 65 mph? I hope I will not regret this gear change. 2004 mustang GT 5 speed.

I just put 4.10's in my 2002 with auto and im around 2500 at 65 mph 3000 at 75mph. i dont think it would be much different with the 5 speed. as far as et i haven't made to the track yet so i cant help with that one. I do know it take some getting used to launching im on stock size falkens but it feels like another engine because your in the power curve quicker. unless you do alot of hiway driving you will not regret the choice. dont forget to recalibrate your speedometer.

Your RPM will be at 2162.7 at 65mph with 4:10's. I'll have mine installed in a few weeks. My last one was a 98 GT w4:10's and I was closer to 2700 rpm's at 70(because the final drive on a T-45 is .67 or .68(can't remember) and a 3650 is .62) and it was still not bad to drive, even on the hwy. You won't regret it at all. BTW if you look in the how-to forum there is a gear calculator.

last week i put 4.10s in my auto and after getting used to the change i dont regret it at all, the performance gain is huge. You will definitely notice the higher rpms on the highway, i know it will be different in your 5 speed but my rpms are 3000 at 70-75mph.

the 5 speed will run lower rpms than the auto. I installed 4.10 gears in my 01 auto and it runs 76 mph at 3000 rpms, the same gears in a 02 5speed will be at 90 mph in 5th at 3000 rpms

I don't think that is right. I run 75 mph in 5th at about 2800 rpms and I am perfectly calibrated.

Your 2000 with 5 speed will run higher rpms in 5th than a 2001.5 and newer 5 speed. Try bringing your engine rpms up 200 more rpms to a even 3000 and see what speed your at. I have a perfectly calibrated speedo and I find it to read pretty close to the chart that the gear calculator has in our how to forum.

This is probably a dumb question. ( this is my first 5 spd tranny car.) But I am assuming you would never go to 5th while running the 1/4 mile. Right?? Or with that high of a gear would you want to use it??

Nope. 4th will go about 110 mph or so with 4.10's.

I just got my 4:10's installed today, I run 2300 rpms at 70 mph(02 5 speed)
All I have to say is that if you have any doubts about which gear to put in, go with the 4:10's. It's the best mod I've done, hands down.

Same here, but it seems a little closer to 3k, could be differences in the tach though..

you've got a better .62 5th gear compared to my .68 in my 97. I dont regret it a bit. If i had your year car of that trans in mine i'd of went 4.30's.

Anyway if you think your taching to high, go with some taller rear tires next set. You will love those 4.10's and say you shouldve did it sooner!!!
