wondering if a remanufactured motor is better than a new one, as I have heard that the parts are proven.......

get a built shortblock....with the money that u would spend on a rebuilt/new stock shortblock...you could be half to 3/4's of the way for a new built one...my .02

A rebuilt motor is just as good or better than a new one. Both motors are assembled the same way using the same parts. Make sure all the internals are NEW and not used parts that they have cleaned up and thrown in there. Any respectable shop wouldnt use old parts.

A used bare block IS stronger than a brand new one. Its because the constant heating and cooling of the block strengthens up the iron metal over time.
