Tuning Options for Cams???
Ok so at the end of this year (around june) I will have the following mods done:
mac prochamber offroad
magnaflow catback
4.10 gears
sct xcal 2 tuner tune
steeda udp's
MGW shifter
K&N filter
At this point i'm goin to purchase some stage 2 VT cams w/ new valve springs and all that good stuff. My question is i have an xcal2 what are my options for tuning my stang once i get the cams. I know the bullitt will require a new tune for the cams but where can i get one(can one be emailed to me) or do i need to find a dyno and get it tuned there or what???? I would love to use my xcal2 on this one that way i can change the tune back to stock if i ever need as well as making minor alteratios on my tune. What are my options? THANX

I live in Alaska and there are NO dyno tuners in the whole state. What cams could I get that perhaps a mail order tune and some adjusting on my end could get to work? I hate living here when it comes to performance cars. But if you want to talk hunting, it's the perfect place.

dyno tune for sure... there's no telling what your a/f ratio will be like otherwise. Plus the dyno tuner will tune the idle on the dyno also, so it'll be right.
As far as not having a dyno tuner around, you could try less aggressive cams, but your a/f ratio would still be outta control. If you were gonna do mail order I would contact Tim from MPH, everyone says he has the closest mail order tunes.

if there is no tuner your gonna have to get a wideband a/f guage hook it up to a pc and data log all the a/f timing etc... to get a good tune out of it. justin at www.vmptuning.com does this for customers and is a fantastic tuner.

doesn't the XCal2 support downloading of custom tunes into it? IIRC you can create a base tune (or your tuner can) which will get you most of the way there, then all you have to do is do the fine tuning. No matter what though for cams, get thee to a dyno
