Were the parts new or used? Prolly just burning off some of the coating / paint from factory.. If it happens frequently, then you have a problem, if it was a one time thing, then it's just burn off.

My car smoked like crazy after having my catback and prochamber installed....it's just burning off paint and other stuff....give it a day or so and it should be fine. I took my car straight to the dyno and after a few pulls the whole dyno area was filled with the smoke from my car! ha ha ha......It went away.

Reminds me of a white desklamp I just got or my dorm room... has a warning label that reads alon the lines of "A strong odor may be emmitted from this lamp. This is not dangerous, it is the paint heating up and should dissipate during the first use."
Which I thought was weird for a lamp. 60watts y0

all new headers will smoke. it's just life. The coating will burn in/off after a little bit and you'll be fine. The shop should have told you to expect that.
